Finca Verde ECO Farm

Our stay at Finca Verde was so lovely! Barry , Alfredo and everyone there were so welcoming and a wealth of knowledge! We only were able to stay for two nights but definitely would stay longer if we had the time. They were so accommodating making sure we all had a place to sleep! The property has a beautiful garden with so many fruits and vegetables to try. I ate/drank the freshest chocolate, jackfruit and coffee i’ve ever had! Thank you so much for having us and I look forward to coming back soon!

Finca Verde is a place that everyone needs to visit. It was amazing to admire the lush green fruit trees in every direction with the sprawling mountains behind. Barry and Alfredo are great people with fantastic property that is definitely one of a kind. We learned about making coffee, chocolate, harvested jackfruit and joined a lovely community for a few days. Thank you Barry and Alfredo! Mucho gusto!

Finca Verde, Rio Canoa, a hidden gem – for now

Spent over a week at Finca Verde, a $5 taxi ride from Canoa, quiet, rustic, peaceful off-the-beaten path place where everyone knows everyone else, is friendly, and genuine.

Finca Verde is flush with many different kinds of fruit trees, flowers, coffee, and cacao – their specialty. Barry and Cerom have built a truly amazing sanctuary from the travails of modern living, a place to escape, get in touch with nature, a nice change from Canoa’s beach scene.

Easy to do as a day trip, and there are rooms for rent – cold water shows only – as well, if you want to stay awhile. Great place to relax in hammocks under the huge Sumango tree, surrounded by nature, birds, plants, so peaceful.

Also available are tours of the farm, especially the cacao process (drying, baking, grinding, making REAL chocolate), and horseback riding.

This place will become very popular with travellers looking for unique DIY adventures, a path back to nature, and an escape from the nearby tourist traps.
