Pailon was one of the best waterfalls I have ever visited. There are 2 entrances, I recommend the top one. The passage is safe and you don't get wet if you don't want to. There was even a raindow over the waterfall.

Amazing must see attraction in Quito! Will need a 15-20 minutes walk to the waterfall. The pathway leading to the waterfall is set in such a way that you pass by next to and below the waterfall. Be prepared to be drenched. The panoramic view at the top of waterfall is fantastic. Incredible experience

One of the most amazing hikes in my life. Breathtaking views. Spectacular. It feels like you are in a village from Avatar movie.
Very easy to hike. Take a waterproof jacket with you if you don’t want to get wet.

Checked out both the new entrance and the old entrance and would recommend the new entrance. Paid $2 to enter each (so $4 total) plus $1 for parking.

The views from the new entrance are better and it doesn’t require as much of a hike to get into the park.

A great waterfall. It's quite a hike to get to so if you're not a walker or are elderly, account for extra time. The journey is safe and the path well built so there's no worry about that.
There's a couple of places to eat and if you're willing you can go under some rocks to climb further to the top for a better view. That's harder and requires better shoes and waterproofs.
When going back down, there's a chance to cross a bridge to get a different view too, through a restaurant.

Totally worth the visit, plenty of parking if coming by car. There's also plenty of buses from banos.

A very special and beautiful place. The waterfall can be approached by two different paths. The entrance fee is the same in both places, 2 USD per person and the bus from Baños takes you almost to the entrance for half dollar. The place can be a bit crowded, but in the late afternoon will meet less visitors.

Much shorter walk than the old trail. Great views and well maintained path. Took us about 1hr to complete. A must if in the area. Tons if parking

Located in the heart of Ecuador's lush jungle, the Cascada de Pailón is a magnificent waterfall that will take your breath away. The moment I arrived at the site, the thunderous sound of rushing water filled the air, setting the tone for an extraordinary adventure ahead.

As I embarked on the trail leading to the waterfall, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the surroundings. Reaching the Cascada de Pailón was a moment I'll never forget. The waterfall itself is a majestic sight to behold. The water cascades down from a towering height, creating a mesmerizing display of power and beauty. The sheer force of the water and the mist that envelops the area give the place an ethereal atmosphere.

One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to walk behind the waterfall. It was an exhilarating experience, as I navigated through narrow passages and felt the spray of the water on my face. The view from behind the curtain of falling water was absolutely breathtaking, allowing me to appreciate the raw power and grandeur of nature.

Throughout my visit, I was impressed by the well-maintained infrastructure and the efforts made to preserve the natural environment. The trails were well-marked, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Additionally, informative signboards along the way provided interesting insights into the geological and ecological significance of the area.

We came to the place around 11 am to noon. It was a weekend and there were not a lot of people in the park. We breezed through the gate entrance and we already started taking pictures of the cascading falls that pounded through the rocks. We went farther down and marveled at the rain forest. We hiked down and reached 2 hanging bridges. The bridges were safe to walk on and you have good views of the cascading falls. Farther down, you go down the stairs where you will be closer to the falls. You can get wet as you move closer. It is quite a walk up and down from the bottom to the top of the falls. Any spot is a good spot to take in the view and take pictures. Beautiful scenery as you hear the thunderous pounding of the cascading falls. Highly recommended for a visit in Baños.

Spectacular huge waterfall dropping huge quantities of water multiple stories into a punch bowl.
There are viewing platforms at various levels with accesses via staircases and bridges that can be steep and wet at times.
We had only 20 minutes as part of the tour of the cascadas, but I would recommend spending longer here to truly see it from different angles and levels. We walked along the river past the stalls and the upper level falls then descended the path, then stairs and bridges to a view point part way down, with great views along the way. While not easy, most folks in decent shape can manage this walk just fine.
Well worth the meager entry fee.

Amazing quick walk to this impressive waterfall. The photos don't do it justice. You have to come to see this in person. You may get a little wet depending how far down the stairs you go.

Hire a bike from Banos and cycle here. Great little bike ride and once here good views and amazing waterfall. Then jump on a bus with the bike to bring you back as who likes cycling uphill.

There are two entances here. One short that will take approx 30 mins til you get to the waterfall. The long one will take approximately an hour. We took the short trail and while going was mostly downhill the way back was all uphill with some steep inclines. If you're afraid of heights you may opt to take in the view at the beginning of the trail. Both sides have a suspension bridge which feels totally safe crossing. The waterfall is quite the sight. Totally worth the hike!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful waterfall! Fun suspension bridge (if you dare). Even if your not willing to go over the suspension bridge, you'll still be able to take in fantastic views of the waterfall and surrounding landscape.
