Carpe Diem

We wanted something different and didn't know what to expect from this place. Let me say as an Italian (by marriage) the pastas here are excellent (with fresh homemade pasta). We tried the carne Lasagne, Ravioli and Gnocchi - all tasted as they should. The pizza however was just okay (we only tried the Margarita).

Likely the best Italian you'll have in Ecuador.

Came here for a late dinner and we're glad we did. We had an individual sized pepperoni pizza and the chicken lasagna. The pizza was the perfect size and was extremely satisfied with flavor. The chicken lasagna was to die for. Not too much sauce and the flavor was heaven. You won't go wrong with any of these items. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Speaking as an Italian this place is amazing! Best Italian food in Ecuador. Probably the best food if have in Ecuador period. The owner is Italian, he's a great guy, the chef I'd very capable and the pizza chef really knows what he's doing.

The salmon fettuccine was better than a lot of food I've had in Rome! The pizza was perfect, not to thin and not to thick, fire scorched from the wood fire oven and fine selection of wines.

Quite simply it's the best Italian in Ecuador.

Best pasta in Ecuador! Fresh in-house pasta which they made (fettuccine dough rolled and cut) in front of us. It was mind blowing and OMG that tiramisu. Owner is Italian and knows what he is doing. We even took some fresh pasta to cook later.

Excellent restaurant with authentic Italian options. The service is very friendly and patient... especially with English speaking only. The food is delicious and portion sizes are very generous. The prices are more than reasonable. I enjoyed the bruschetta to start. It was amazing. I had the bolognese for my main and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend this place in Baños.

Amazing food, ALL of it! They also have artisanal beers. It’s a cozy atmosphere too. I go there every time I’m in Baños. Filippo and his staff are very helpful and flexible and offer a great service in a laid back ambience. Their eggplant-parmigiana is sublime and the risotto de fungi both are my favorites. Be sure to visit them while staying in Baños. You won’t be disappointed!

I wish we would have had more time in Baños to come back here multiple times. The pizza was freshly made and came from a wood fired oven. The vegetables on the vegetarian pizza tasted fresh and and the crust didn't get soggy as has happened in some places that load a pizza with this many veggies.

grande! great place for authentic italian food, you can taste that italian people are working there. service was very good as well, i have to say that very few people were there when i visited tho... the prices are above average but you get what you pay for, make sure to try the bruschetta! 100% can recommend!

Excellent service, friendly staff. Delicious Aperol Spritz! Pizza made in wood fire oven. Salmon fettuccine was divine. Lovely outdoor seating area. Would 10/10 recommend!

What a little Italian gem in Banõs! The setting outside is so picturesque and quaint! The food was delicious. We had the fettuccine Bolognese and Pepperoni pizza, which were both fantastic, and all homemade. The house wine was lovely too. The service was also excellent, so friendly, and we adored the daughter of one of the employees, she was so cute and charming!

Very nice italian place where we had a great dinner (NO pizzas). Service was great and they had great local crafts beer (Kino's). Try the Pale Ale.

Excellent meal here. Pasta Bolognese and pasta with seafood. Both superb. Good house wine and lovely staff. Good value and nice location on quiet street.

Carpe Diem restaurant in Baños looks amazing, its infrastructure looks really beautiful, being located in a place where you can see and appreciate nature is great. The food that my family tried tasted great, the Italian food they prepare tasted so good that we would go back there, even the sound of nature was incredible, we felt very relaxed and happy with the service they gave us, totally recommended.

If you are a Taurus, a foodie or just a person that love to treat yourself…
This is the place you want to go! My personal favourite: Pizza Tano 🍕 always gets my mood higher 😅

Grazie mille for the Italian guy who gave this restaurant his blessings. It brought hs here, and I'm so glad it did. WONDERFUL pizza! Good crust, fluffy, chewy. Leopard spotting, little to no flop. Quality cheese and they make their own sauce.

Add to that a legitimate wood-oven and homemade pasta (you can see them kneeding it) and you're a winner in my book.

Very delicious pizza, as you would eat it in Italy! If we had another night in Baños, we would definitely come back and eat here again.
