Loved this hostel! Sebastian was great and super welcoming- he gave us amazing recommendations for excursions in the area. The rooms were kept clean and the common room has so many fun activities. Great energy 10/10 would come back!!!

Breakfast is included with coffee so that saves a few $$ right there There is a good atmosphere

I had an absolute blast staying at the hostel in Baños! It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home, even if you just arrived. The rooms were so clean and comfy, and the best part? The prices were as friendly as the fellow travelers I met!

Baños is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, and this hostel was the perfect base camp for all the adventure. From biking to hiking, and even bungee jumping – you name it, they got it! And after an action-packed day, the common areas were an oasis of fun. I was a Fooseball champion by the time I left!

Who needs a DJ when you have the hostel’s music playlist? It was an epic soundtrack to our daily escapades. Plus, I had some legendary movie nights in the cozy movie area, complete with popcorn fights!

But the cherry on top of this awesome experience was Sebastian, the hostel manager. He’s the master of turning an ordinary stay into an unforgettable memory. Whether it’s recommending hidden gems or organizing epic game nights, he never failed to keep the good times rolling.

And let’s not forget the breakfast – it was divine fuel for all our shenanigans! I can’t wait to go back and create more unforgettable moments at this gem of a hostel in Baños. Thanks to Sebastian and the team for making my stay the stuff of legends! 🎉

Such a sick place with a great social vibe. Not always pumping for parties (which means you can actually sleep) but you can always rustle up a crew for fun in the city and when you want to go a bit wild just find the manager Sebastian and he will get some rage cage pumping. Cheap big beers $2, nice common area, a kitchen, comfy beds. Sebastian the manager is a riot, super honest and helpful about the activities and also just good to sink beers with but the volunteer Bruno has better chat! Got stuck here for 10 days taking Spanish classes and slowly doing the fun stuff in town. This is the hostel ur looking for!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our private room was huge and the bed even bigger!! Definitely the best hostel room and bed we've had on our trip. And so many pillows it was amazing. Good, hot showers, very generous breakfast and a great atmosphere. So easy to socialise and meet new people and Sebastian was always on hand to help out, plan trips, and generally get the party started! Cheers, Tom & Katherine

We really enjoyed our stay, we ended up extending! After quite a few months on the road, it was a perfect place for us to have some down time as well as enjoy the activities Banos has to offer.

Our private room was spacious, big comfy bed, loads of pillows, bed side tables & plugs next to the bed.

Bathroom was clean & tidy, large shower and hot water.

Safe in the room, good cupboard space, windows to let fresh air in.

Great bar with very reasonably priced drinks and can order food & snacks from bar menu. Cakes & biscuits available to purchase too. Included brekky is good.

Very clean communal kitchen/fridge which is cleaned daily.

We loved the chillout spaces around the property and if you want to be social there are plenty of opportunities. Pool table , beer pong, etc etc.

Short walk to centre of town, restaurants, bars, atms, supermarket.

Can book loads of activities/ tours through reception.

Thanks so much to Seb & the team for an awesome stay!!! We didn't want to leave.

My boyfriend and I love this place! Booked for 3nights, stayed for 10! Such a fab, social place that attracts a great bunch of people. The breakfast is the best free one we’ve had in South America. We stayed in two different dorms and both were comfortable and v reasonably priced. Seb the owner is sooo passionate about making sure everyone’s having a great time and is so incredibly helpful and generous. Baños itself is great with sooo much to do, and the hostel help you get the most out of all the activities. So glad we came and would definitely recommend 💗

Staff was very friendly and helpful- gave plenty of reccomendations for incredible restaurants- they have huge parties there with beer pong, pool table, etc

Great atmosphere overall and an amazing place to meet fellow travelers as a solo traveler

There is so much to like about this Hostel. The staff is friendly, common room has plenty going on, great place to meet others, rooms are large and the location is perfect.

Cons: I am really splitting hairs to find a con but I have to comment on our toilet condition. It didn’t work properly since my group started our stay but we also didn’t request it to be fixed. Also, when I did my laundry, one of our towels didn’t make it back but the hostel never charged me for it so no big deal.

Pros: They have almost round the clock food options and the worker, Sebastian, was excellent at preparing meals. His burritos were top notch! There is a pool table in the center of the room and plenty of books and board games to keep you occupied. There is a TV with cable and a good DVD selection. Not to mention the refrigerator filled with beer and water.

The rooms were cozy but the beds a bit firm. Everything is gated in so you don’t have to worry about strangers wondering through.

Highly recommended that you stay here when visiting Baños.

We just had a great experience at Great Hostels Backpackers in Banos. We had a beautiful large room, king bed, private bath w/shower and generous breakfast. The common area was a very inviting large area with pool table, comfy bar, couches, music, games (and the occasional, friendly resident dog). There were e-bikes available and more, though my favorite pastime at one point was relaxing in the yard, taking photos as the clouds passed over the surrounding mountains. The host, Sebastian, went above and beyond, for us. We stayed one night, but he was a resource for a few days, helping us get the best info for SIM cards, transportation and more. Our only regret was that we didn’t book more days, as he was filled up for the rest of our stay. He also supports many tours, and his cafe on site provides yummy meals and drinks. I HIGHLY suggest you make this your go-to place when visiting Banos!

Really fun hostel, staff were super helpful and organised loads of great activities for us. We stayed an extra 2 nights because we enjoyed it so much. Really recommend!

Great staff, excellent rooms and fantastic atmosphere. The free breakfast was simple, but good quality. The staff were all knowledgeable in the local scene and attractions, they could answer any questions I had. The other guests were all friendly and the social environment was top notch. Overall it was a good experience that I would recommend!

Stayed here for a long weekend in Baños. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and our room was very clean. We didn’t eat here, but the drinks were amazing. Plenty of hot water to shower and very secure. Not right downtown, but a very short walk. Gorgeous views. I’d absolutely stay again if I’m ever back in Baños

Not only is this place quiet, you also have an awesome hangout spot! Really good prices on food, and the nicest pool table in town. The service is really awesome! Super cool staff..very understandable and reasonable

Super welcoming and clean accommodation. They’ve created the perfect balance of socializing and getting a good night’s sleep. Highly recommend this hostel for anyone in Baños!

Nice place!
The rooms and shower/toilet are good.
Breakfast included and they offer dinner on monday, tuesday and wednesday.
Places to relax outside and inside are cool.
Price at the bar are low.
They will help you find everything you need in Baños and can lend you a hat for the thermal baths for exemple.
I do recommend this hostel!

Brilliant set up! Friendly staff, room for parking, goid food and atmosphere and comfy beds. What more could you want. Wifi is slow but why go on holiday to stare at a phone. Plenty to do in the area.

Great hostel, best of Ecuador for me so far. Cheap booze, staff are class. Sebastian is goated.
