El Meson Suizo

I recommend the “Plato del dia” or days special. You can get a nice size plate for 165 or 200 pesos. The menu a la cart is a bit over priced in my opinion. But very clean place. Never haven gotten sick from eating here.

The food is good. (We ordered it to go.) We were grateful to find a place that still cooked naturally without sopitas (flavor cubes or enhancers). In fact, it was the only one out of six places that we called that cooked naturally.

The city Azua is one of the bigger of the Dominican Republic with about 90000 residents. They have a lot of local business there, and it's more famous for the endless day-and-night travel from Haiti to Santo Domingo. Azua is one of the transit towns with all the necessary things you need on your trip: bus station, bancos, ATMs, La Sirena and some fast food restaurants for getting the food you need.
There are not soo many good restaurants, but the El Meson Suizo is the best one before Santo Domingo. They offer you a good menue of local fish, very delicious soups and cool beer! Their service is really great and they comply you with any wishes to make your meal perfect. The location is a little bit far and not easy to find in the dark after 7 p.m., but it's just two crossways far from the main street, so it's easy to get and with a little bit of help of your Google-map you find the fastest way out of the city too, only you need be a little bit carefully with all the dark colored locals walking in the night on the street without high-vis vest or riding the light-off passolas, so you always get a feeling like a wrong-way driver, which truly you are in this country, indeed! But the restarant is really good and gets our best recommendations. Enjoy it!

Excelente lugar en armonia con la naturaleza, excelente servicio, muy buena relación de calidad, precios y servicios. Unas magníficas atenciones y comida sabrosa. Es un lugar apropiado para compartir con amigos y familiares. Les invito a conocer este maravilloso lugar, es acogedor, limpio, organizado y con una higiene única, baños muy limpios, quedé sorprendida con la limpieza del establecimiento, sobre todo, los baños. Un personal joven, con un trato humano maravilloso. Quedé encantada con mi estadía en el hotel que está justo al lado del restaurant y que es de los dueños del Mesón Suizo.

Buena comida y muy buena atención del personal

Restaurante muy tranquilo, en zona céntrica pero lo suficientemente alejado del caos de las avenidas principales. La comida tiene un sabor riquísimo, un precio muy adecuado y las porciones de buen tamaño. Recomiendo 100% el chivo y la cazuela de mariscos.
