La Casa En la Playa - A Select Retreat

This place and Mama and her family was really one of the best things

My kiddos who've been to Amber Cove like 5 times said this is the best excursion yet.. it *maybe* ties with swimming with the dolphins

The food was simple, delicious, and filling.. did I mention delicious? Seriously the fish and the chicken were some of my favorite bites the whole week long cruise

The beach was nice and tidy, the chairs were comfy and the drinks don't stop.

Mama immediately made everyone at ease and had jokes about everything.... she's truly the heart of this place.

Best for a relaxing and fun day at the beach. Mama and her very kind crew took great care of us - beach chairs were set under a shady tree, and we got a simple but well-prepared lunch with local flavor. Complimentary drinks, great service, hassle free transportation, nice sand, kayaks and snorkel equipment provided. Sweet, playful doggies and one tolerant cat reminded us of the pets waiting for us at home. All in all, a perfect, peaceful excursion.

We were greeted at the onset by Primo...our friendly, funny driver. Mama joined us on our short trip to La Casa. The ride was not too long, and really not too bumpy. Mama gave us a history lesson on the ride. She's enthusiastic, funny and very charming.
Once at La Casa, you are waited on hand and foot. Want a drink? It's in hand. Want to snorkel? Kayak? Boogie board? It's all there.
The sand is pristine and the water is warm and inviting.
And...there's puppies!! So cute and sweet.
Although it says this is a cashless venue, bring some cash for tips for the staff and the local artisans. It's worth it to support these fantastic people.

From the start of the excursion, Primo was our driver. He was hilarious and made us ready to enjoy our day. The ride was not long, and we learned a lot about the culture on the "country side" versus the "city side". Once we got to the destination we were greeted by Mama. She was amazing, funny, so helpful and gracious. Mama alone is a reason to revisit. This entire excursion from start to finish felt like it was catered to our ever need. Beach was beautiful, bathrooms were clean, food was great and the drinks were plentiful. There was a mommy dog and two adorable puppies to top it off. If you want a luxurious beach excursion filled with fun yet relaxing you must book. There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, snorkels, kayaks, and paddle boards.

Mama and Primo and the whole staff at La Casa En La play were amazing and so helpful. We booked it on our Carnival Horizon trip and it was soo well worth it. Thank you for treating myself and family to your generous hospitality, I got some good cigars and Mamajuanna too

We had a blast. The staff were wonderful and food was fantastic. This was a last minute substitute for a cancelled excursion and it was well worth it. Will do again next time at Amber Cove.

Mama & her crew are awesome!

We bought this excursion about a month ago after wanting to have another excursion on our trip.My recent wife and I had a blast swimming, dancing and drinking. Our kids enjoyed themselves too. We highly recommend this excursion to everyone. Mama and her crew took such good care of us that most of them could easily be hired on as crew on the Mardi Gras. I would definitely book again

Such a beautiful place with grace staff to make you feel welcome

Although we were on vacation/cruise Mama, Primo and all of the staff make you feel at home. The service is 10stars. The vibes, food and experience is out of this world. Endless drinks, food, private beach, plus someone washing sand off of your feet, you couldn’t ask for more but they go all out for their new familia (customer). Mama even sent someone to get my wife feminine products which was greatly appreciated. If you want a feasible excursion $79, food, drinks, bus ride and a host with a sense of humor, then La Casa En La Playa is the place for you. Do not forget to support and purchase a bottle or cup of Mama Juana. Anytime I am anywhere in the DR, I will be supporting this business. To mi familia para siempre, MAMA/PRIMO I WILL BE BACK!

We had an amazing time period we were waited on handed foot. Mama is so funny and such a Is great hostess. We will book this excursion every time we come. The drinks were amazing the ocean was great the chairs and umbrellas were great.

Mama is amazing! Seriously though, if you found this review and are even slightly thinking about booking this, drop what you are doing and BOOK IT! food was great, the unlimited rum punch was flowing and my wife and I had an incredible time. we both said we are returning! Love you mama!

This experience was so pleasant and Mama was so fun and nice. The entire staff was incredibly helpful. Gracias y mucho gusto a todo de la casa.

Mama and her crew made a day at the beach something special. We liked it so much we went back on our last two trips to Amber Cove. We'll go back on our next trip too!

We had an amazing time, everyone was awesome and loved what they do. Friendly ambiance. Food was delicious and drinks were yummy. Must try the mama Juana.
