The team communicated with me in a clear and timely manner via WhatsApp. They communicated well with the team at the compound, for the most part.
I ordered the complete experience and that was worth the asking price. The welcome Libya drink was absolutely delicious! The food and service in the restaurant was great - it took a long time for the food to come, but it’s likely because the food was prepared fresh. The garlic shrimp that a neighboring table ordered smelled so good! The pizza looked delicious too.
The wine tour was informative. I didn’t enjoy being a translator, so I wish they had the tour recorded in English as the tour guide didn’t speak English. The wine tasting was awesome. The tour guides passion fruit grappa was better than the wine, tbh, and I wish they sold it. Still, I’m happy the owners give the knowledgeable tour guide the freedom to create. The wine combos are a great price, as well. It’s too bad you can’t find them at the duty free stores in the airport!
The infinity pool was cool and relaxing. This was my first vineyard tour and wine tasting and I highly recommend it. The only downside is that if you are traveling alone or with one or two other people then the only options close by are villas, an expensive all inclusive (not worth it if you are in that region for one day). However you can stay at a small hotel in San Jose de Ocoa, which is about 50 minutes away. Drive an SUV not a sedan because the roads are not low clearance friendly.

A vineyard in the caribbean? Best place ever!
We went to Ocoabay on sunday, we were a group of 7 adults. We arrive early, an hour before the opening. We took advantage of that time to enjoy the view and make a lot of awesome pictures. The vineyard is beautiful, the entrance is a road full of flowers and an awesome view.They received us with a delicious "welcome cocktail", while we were waiting to start our tour, next to the pool. During the tour, we stop in a few spots, one of those was the room with the equipements to processed the grapes; our guide was Albert, he show us how the process is, thedifferents types of grapes, the origin... he also guided us in the winetasting, Albert is a great hostest, with a full knowlege of the vineyard, and marvelous atentions. Sarah was in charge of the charcuterie, with an exquisit artisanal tamarind jam and artisanal cheese, they with all the staff maded our experience extraordinary. After the winetasting we went back to the pool area, we swinmed, we had lunch, the food was delicious, we uncorked a few bottles of that exquisit wine and enjoyed a wonderful day, we left about 6pm. We defetnely recommended the place, so add it to your places to visit list you wont regret.

I did go with someone from the Dominican Republic so they kind of knew how things worked. When we first arrived my friend did have a short conversation with the guard and we were let in (no fee).

With that being said because it's free entry (at least when I went) I believe you are expected to spend some amount of money out of courtesy. We had lunch and two bottles of their homemade wine for roughly $110 USD.

It's an easy drive to get to (even though Google and Apple maps gets you lost out there) coming from Santo Domingo.

This is a must for a day trip!

Wonderful vineyard in the last place you'd think there would be a vineyard. The wine is great and the restaurant has fantastic food! Very impressed and pleasantly surprised!

I live in the Finger Lakes region of New York, United States, where wineries are a dime a dozen. OcoaBay can easily keep up with them and surpasses most in experience. The vast estate is gorgeous and diverse, the tour is fun and informative, and the wines and food are great. All staff I interacted with (several) were so friendly as well as professional so I don't know what happened to warrant bad reviews here but I certainly have no complaints. I highly recommend OcoaBay as it's one of the highlights of our trip!

OcoaBay is fantastic. I would highly recommend going for the tour then drinking and eating at the pool.

There was a mix up when we went as we had booked online through their website but it was actually closed. They do not accept bookings online only via WhatsApp, but the we somehow managed to book online. When we turned up they were closed with only a few members of staff doing maintenance. Despite this they let us come in and have a bottle of wine in the pool as we had come out of our way for the booking. The staff were superb and we spoke to the owner who was very interesting and friendly.

Beautiful vineyard.

There was a mix up when we went. We made a reservation online, but it turns out that the vineyard was closed to the public on that day. They recognised the mistake and allowed us to visit, try some wines, and swim in the pool for a few hours. We are very grateful to the staff for accommodating us.

I highly recommend visiting this vineyard.

Incredible view and once in a lifetime experience.. be sure to try KiBay—their signature tropical fruit “wine” (not made from grapes but fermented mango and passion fruit). It pairs perfectly with the scenery and ambiance

This place is a jewel in the South of the Dominican Republic. It's a dry heat so no humidity... views from OcoaBay are amazing.... this is a winery...one of the first in the country I understand. The infinity pool is heavily the wait staff is superior. Get here if you can.
