A wonderful experience. Participants are working as if they are in ancient viking times. Experience includes mead making, animal tanning, food cooking/preparing, seeing and such. They are dressed in traditional wear and there are houses designated to each are of living in viking times. There are mead tastings occasionally we have been told but not when we went. There is howevwr a gift store at the entrance that you can purchase mead and other souvenirs.

Went here as part of our tour. It was a great experience. They recreated a little viking village with different house to visit to learn about viking life. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

A nice place for kids and adults. The Vikingecenter Fyrkat consists of the historic ringfort Fyrkat and the Viking Farmstead, which is 9 reconstructed houses, that together constitute a large Viking property. In the farmstead there are playgrounds, activities for childrens and an exhibition. You can reach the ringfort with a short 15 min walk.

I loved the reinactment of this place. I learned allot from the chief and his wife but also from some slaves they got there ;). The reallife viking fortress was amazing to see, the size of it is baffling. (And then I did not even see the one in Trelleborg)

Excellent spot for a stop! one of the "Vikings" there showed us games and we had a lot of fun playing! there's a really big playground around aswell, everything is maintained very well and you get to try a lot of different things like pottery or even melting sand to glass!

Beautiful place, lot of history, nice people who take their time to explain, even listening to a saga about king Harald Bluetooth. Place that you have to see .

Just amazing. A must-visit of you're anywhere nearby. The Viking-themed playground alone is worth a stop, but all the reƫnactors were so knowledgeable and friendly, with plenty of family-friendly activities, including just letting you hit each other with swords and axes if that's what you're looking for. An, if not the, absolute highlight of our eight days in Denmark.

Nice souvenir shop too, especially after some extremely tacky offerings at Himmelbjerget the previƶus day.

From the ladies dieing fiber in a pot on an open flame with a special beetle for color to the man working on leather who spoke longingly about Valhalla this is a special place to observe history.

We really enjoyed our time here as part of a tour. The recreated long house is very impressive and the actual site of the fortress was beautiful. Artisans had their wares available for purchase.

This place is one of the most interesting Vikings places in Denmark. The history has begun before 950, and here you can find some artifacts and reconstructions of buildings from that time.
I really recommend to visit this place for all, who are interested in history of Denmark and Viking age. You will enjoy nature as well - the place has a good geographical location.

This summer August21 we have had here an wonderful experience during our summer vacation. We met very nice people who could takes us back in time of the Vikings. Their knowledge was very high in explaining us how their way of living was. We where being invited to participate in some of their traditional games which made the experience complete.
