Our tour was given by a local history major from a local University. He gave a spectacular tour, including both historic facts and lore. The castle has many significant artifacts, art collection, dishes once used by Marie Antoinette, and many fun facts from it's long history.

Amazing place! Love the castle, but also the «Medieval fair» in July, and the Christmas Market.

We always visit this place every year. It really feels like going back to that exact time. Well organized and the actors are very good in portraying their roles. One word, hyggeligt. 😉

Its a good place with some local history. Shows summer and winter tends to be somewhat overpriced.

I love this castle it stands alone next to a moat but oozes history inside and out . We visited it at Christmas and the Danes do love their Christmas and the sense of HYGGE very uplifting by all the Christmas decorations. Yes I do believe I woukd be happy to be an English speaking guide hete as so near now to where I live . This castle epitomises everything you associate with history past and present and I expect filled with fairytales and hidden.treasures

This historic castle is absolutely worth the visit. The tour of the site is great and told with enthusiasm. The history of the place is fascinating and much of the original building and interior has been preserved. We were lucky enough to visit during the yearly "Medieval days" which added an extra four hours of fun to the trip.

Nice place to visit but perhaps a bit expensive for the few things it has to see in winter season. They should have taken more advantage of the snow this year to give more life to the place. Anyway it is very pretty place.

Great experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're close to the area. Artifacts from the Byzantine Empire, Chinese dynasties, Napoleon Bonaparte and The Vatican. Great history, beatiful castle and a great guide. The guide is in danish so english speakers should be aware of that. Also a quaint little castle shop with souvenirs, ice cream, beer and marmelade. You cen expect to spend 1.5 hours here if you get the tour. The castle cannot be explored without a guide, only the grounds are free to access.

The store was decent, depending on what you're looking for. The tour inside was absolutery worth it, I would even say it's a must. Atleast as long as you can understand Danish, but I think you can get a paper inn a few different languages and some guiding in English. Lots of historical artifacts from many different places, and a quite a lot of historical stories. Of course it also comes with it's own ghost stories.

This was also a nice day - and the happening takes place for a week.

A lot to see, also how things were done practically in the old times.

A lot of activities and demonstrations.

Bring your own food, or buy there - the soup and sausages were yummy.

A beautiful castle, with a moat, built around 1500 AD. We got a nice tour of the castle interior by a merry and knowledgable guide named Alice. Tons of artwork and history here. Too bad we didn't visit the castle next week when an annual medieval festival is taking place. Our guide told us that around 30.000 people would attend!

Visited during the medieval week. The market and performers was a great experience and the castle is a beautiful setting for it

Fantastic old Castle with a lot of history. There are a lot of events here. In summer they have a fantastic middle age festival, and also events at easter, christmas and so on. Check their website for the event calender. Really worth going here
