If you're into seafood, Essens is a place you definitely need to visit !... We ordered "Essensen af det hele" which means they will bring you everything the kitchen has to offer for that particular day. No 2 days and menus are alike 😊... Will be back very soon!

Excellent food. Great ambiance and wonderful daily creations. If you have not heard about them before please go. This is daily creations with the fish selection and seasonal vegetables. Absolutely amazing taste and plating

Cooked up “Essens fish and chips” for kids and served a wonderful array of appetizers and a main dish with seasonal ingredients.

Wow, just wow. We stumbled in by coincidence and we were absolutely astonished. The service (thanks Freya) was quick, nice and helpful.
The food compilation(we had the small Essens) was so interesting and surprising.
One of the best -if not the best- fish we ever had. And all is served by the chef, so nothing to add than: thanks for that evening.:)

They don't only serve food, they serve art work!

Waiter was attentive without being intrusive and was able to describe the available options. The is a limited menu here of three options but the options themselves change depending on what produce is available and of high quality. The chef also described each dish as it was delivered. Choice was the dry aged steak which came with a salad and rustic chips. The steak was tender and flavoursome and the sauce provided for the steak was good. The salad was was surprisingly tasty and the chips were seasoned to perfection with flaky sea salt. Overall the restaurant has a quaint style with second hand doors and windows included around the space and the use of flaming heaters/torches gives a comfortable atmosphere. I would happily visit again.

First class restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyable eye opening dining. We took our two children in an attempt to broaden their culinary horizons and we weren't disappointed. Excellent service to top it off.

Very nice place, friendly stuff, waiter describes you every piece of meal and it was delicious. I recommend to visit, it's little bit expensive, but you live only once... if you're not hinduist :)

No menu here. The chef decides what you eat.. lots of different variety. Mostly seafood dishs.very tasty!

Du må ikke gå uden om dette sted! Alt, lige fra indretningen, stemningen, betjeningen, og naturligvis maden, ja selv musikken, går op i en højere enhed her. Vi nød hver en bid af den overdådige servering af fisk i alle afskygninger vi fik i den lille menu.

Det her er stedet til alle dem der elsker fisk, og sågar også til dem der ikke kan fordrage fisk. For hvis der er et sted, der kan få en til at kaste sin kærlighed over de herligheder, der kan fremstilles af gaverne fra dybet, så er det her.

Det var The Reef der bragte os til Frederikshavn. Det er Restaurant Essens der gør vi vender tilbage.

Helt fantastisk mat.. Den hade allt. Den stora Essens, underbart komponerad måltid. Salt, krispigt, krämigt.. Är den bästa fiskeresturangen jag ätit på. Kan varmt rekommendera denna fantastiska resturang. Vällagat och underbar personal.
