Hotel Kommandørgården

I spend the VIP riding weekend and what can I say - the room was nice, spacious, even with a small kitchenette (one of the new rooms) and great views over the camping and the sea in the back. Clean and tidy! The only mark: the bed is rather small for two and not the most comfy. Food was great - a nice selection of local and international food. Service can by times be a bit slow and confusing with languages BUT always kind and friendly. The location is great - immediately next to the Wadden sea. The best: the horses. Huge fields, great guides, beautiful nature, and very very well-hearted and happy and well nurtured horses with a great spirit. They differ in characteristics but they make it easy to find the right one for you. The Mandø Tour is maybe a bit more expensive but 100% worth it. Also, go on a Beach or sunset ride - you won’t regret it!

What a wonderful place. The Icelandic horse trekking was magical and the instructors were brilliant.

The reviews here making me sad, Iam glad that i decided to stay with my campervan for one night despite the rating. However its also true that sanitation facilities should be cleaner.

Im a young surfer who came a looong way to surf in Romo, i dropped around 10 pm and the receptionist was suuuuper kind that he even showed me my place as it was late in the night.
They are kind, welcoming and flexible, its a safe place, you will be given a large spot, and the price is ok to stay 1-2 nights.

Very nice, relaxed, and cozy place with positive co-workers. The service you get is quite good and they offer a relaxing spa area and dinner after you have been riding on a horse the whole day(for the package we bought) . The horses seem to be taken good care of and they get a one hour break between the three daily rides, where they can eat, drink, and relax. The trips are beautiful and relaxing, but challenging if you have not been riding a lot (if you are a beginner) they are though good to learn from, and it's not hard to overcome. After all, the horses will do all the work for you if you don't know anything about what you are doing or if you just want to sit back and relax. You will be accompanied by a guide. The guides are genuinely friendly too. For the hotel room -it's a good room with everything you need. The doors are a little sloppy though. You might have access to several pools and other facilities. All in all: great experience!

Me and my girlfriend went to this campsite spontaneously during the Corona time. The reception girl was very friendly and helped us out well! There was enough space for our tents so we had a lot of peace and quiet. There was a hut with shared kitchen/fridge where we could cook nicely and even watch television which I feel is a luxury for 150 kroner for a night

We had an amazing holiday there. The children enjoyed the pool and the horse riding and we really loved the massage

Kommandørgården is a hotel, a camping grounds, a riding stable, and a magical amusement park. The hotel is well kept with friendly staff and clean facilities. The camping grounds are organized logically: camping plots are complemented with adoreable little huts and there are multiple washing and cooking facilities distributed all over the camp grounds. It's a calm place so you can get a good night's sleep before exploring the great outdoors surrounding Kommandørgården. There are meadowes with horses, the coastline, and romantic forests with lots of deer easily reachable on foot (and horseback, should you so choose).

To us, the main attraction of Kommandørgården is definitly the riding stables. They breed their own horses and at the time of this writing have about 120 icelandic horses, two donkeys, a Shetland pony and a massive Shire horse. All animals are very well kept, indeed it would seem that their well being is everybody's main concern. Kommandørgården offers riding tours (and basic instructions). For tours, participants are grouped according to skill level and then assigned a horse. This horse assignment takes quite some time, as all employees take care that you get a horse that fits well with your level of skill and size of physique. When booking a riding tour, be sure to be there one hour before it starts, so you have enough time to get to know your horse.

The tours are very well led, by experienced, friendly and really helpful guides. Tours are trilingual in Danish, German, and English. In our party we had newbies as well as seasoned riders, and all of them got something out of each tour we took.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Rømø, this lovely hotel and camp grounds are highly recommended. If you are looking at enriching your stay with some horse time - you cannot find a better place in that area of Denmark/Germany.

Just tried a "beer bath". Quite regal sitting in a beer herbs infused bath. Give it a go 😀

Wir waren bisher nur zum Buffet dort und kann daher nichts zu den Zimmern sagen.
Buffet war beide Male sehr lecker und die Qualität war sehr gut. Auch die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und gibt sein Bestes, beim vollem Haus manchmal etwas schwieriger ja, aber auch dort funktioniert es nach dänischen Prinzip "stille og roligt" meist gut.
Rund um können wir dementsprechend das auf jeden Fall nur für gut befinden.

Wir waren nun zum zweiten Mal im Winter hier, einmal mit dem Wohnmobil, einmal als Hotelgast.

Hier bewegt sich was in die richtige Richtung.

Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und in der Anlage findet eine langsame Renovierung statt.

Wer das Hotel Atlantik erwartet, ist hier falsch. Wer venizianische Morbidität liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Und wer in Zukunft eine bezahlbare Toppadresse in bester Lage möchte, sollte jetzt hinfahren und mit seinem Geld die Reanimierung dieser historischen Stätte unterstützen.

Wir retten mit Spenden Menschen in Not. Warum nicht mal mit einem Aufenthalt einen Hotelbetrieb?

Die im Durchschnitt 2,9 ist ungerecht.
Die 5, die ich jetzt vergab, den Schnitt zu heben, ist auch falsch.

Ein 4,2 wäre zur Zeit gerecht.

Wir kommen jetzt mittlerweile schon 10 Jahre auf diesen Campingplatz.
Immer Anfang September reisen wir mit unseren Motorrädern zum Bike & Beer Festival an und fühlen uns dort pudelwohl 😎.
Und den ganzen Spasomacken mit ihren fetten Wohnmobilen die hier nur rumnölen möchte ich folgendes sagen: Steht gefälligst n büschen früher auf, dann habt ihr auch keine Probleme mit besetzten Toiletten oder Duschkabinen!
Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nächstes Jahr wieder 🤘

Herrlich ruhiger Stellplatz für Wohnmobile. Waren vier Tage dort. Servicepersonal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Schöne Unterkunft mit tollem Wattenmeer Blick, gutes Essen, nettes Personal und eine sehr nette Chefin. Mir hat es besonders gefallen, daß ich während einer Woche Reiterurlaub fast immer das gleiche Pferd reiten durfte 👍, schafft Vertrauen. Der nächste Reiterurlaub ist bereits gebucht 😉. Die Pferde sind alle toll, der Stall ist schön und liebevoll gestaltet!
