Very well put together museum and an evocative memorial on the sea front. A moving tribute to the lost souls.

Terrific Museum.

In addition to presenting a detailed explanation of the 1916 Battle of Jutland it has many interesting other facts. For example, a German female aviation acrobat invented the parachute but it took her nearly a decade to convince the military to use it despite pilots being expected to die a “hero’s death”. The British WW1 submariners had to use pigeons to send messages as their communications weren’t as good as the Germans. If they overfed the pigeons, communication breakdown resulted!

Audio guides are available in Danish, German and English.

We spent three hours in the museum and about 30 minutes looking at the guns outside as well as climbing over the bluff to look to the sea and visit the statues marking where the various ships involved in the battle sank.

There is free parking in front of the museum. For refreshments, cross over the road to the Aquarium which sells soft drinks, coffee and icecream.

Great, the informations are written in German & English (translated from danish). Can't say anything about the Museum itself. Wasn't in there

Amazing museum! They even have the tower from the U-boat which brought the US into WWI! This level of presentation, and modern facilities, are rare.

Quite extraordinary experience in this museum at a rather unusual location. You owe it to yourself to check it out if you are interested in Marine Warfare and/ or ww1.

This little museum beautifully conveys the history of The Battle Of Jutland and the sea war of the First World War. It has lots of recovered items from the stranded and sunken wrecks, all with a story of their own.
Reserve at least 2-3 hours for the inside displays.
It is definitely worth the time!

A very positive experience! Friendly staff (that offered to give us free entrance the day after since we came around 1h before closing). A lot of objects to see and lots of interesting information that even a quite history interested person like myself didn't know about before. Highly recommended

The war museum offers many insights and a huge documentation painstakingly put together about the First World War naval Battle of Jutland. It‘s not only about numbers and figures or technical details here, but you also get a real sense of the stories and tragedies behind this gruesome and terrible chapter of human warfare. Highly recommended!

Very interesting museum about the biggest sea battle in history, that happened just outside the coast of Denmark, between the British and the Germans during world war I.

It is possible to get an audio guided tour (headphones) in Danish, English and German. The guided tour explains how the battle happened, what ships and equipment was used and much more.

The museum shows of a lot of ship canons, torpedoes, sea mines and other things found on the bottom of the sea.

This museum gets 5 stars due to the amazing quality of the material and the detail of the stories in the audio tour.

I want to knock off just a little since the audio tour in both Danish mad English needs to be edited. The numbers said in the audio tour to point to a poster make no sense and the narrator frequently repeats things and makes corrections. This could be fixed with some simple edits.

The flow of the exibits is also confusing trying to follow the numbers. Maybe a small path made on the floor.

Besides those two points, the exibits are way better then I have ever seen at most museums. It is a world class place tjat immerses you in the battle and makes you feel for every life lost. The beach memorial is so powerful. It is a beautiful tribute.

A surprisingly large museum for a small town. Like most people I suspect, I knew of the battle of Jutland but before coming here I couldn't have told you where it took place! This is one of the best laid out museums I have been to, lots to see, exhibited in an interesting way, there are a great many artefacts and a great depth of detail is supplied in the captions and commentary. Highly recommended even for people who have little interest in WW1 sea battles. Friendly and informative staff are a bonus.

Lovely little museum for anyone interested in the greatest naval war ever! Custodians are friendly, and fresh fish are available next door at the harbour cafe. Great day spend there.

Cozy little museum, very well curated. It doesn't overload you with information, but has lots of artefacts of the shipwrecks. There is also an audio guide App, for the smartphone, that tells some more things, but was a little difficult to navigate.

Really fascinating especially for history buffs, audio guides are free and really great, they give a lot more information about the exhibitions and really makes the battles come alive.

It's very possible to spend a couple of hours here even though it doesn't look like it on the surface.
