A really cool little museum, with expositions available in english, german and danish. A perfect place to visit on the weekend, takes about 1 - 2 hours to see the whole thing. The museum ticket also grants you entrance to the tower, which has an awesome view of the area. Would recommend

A great museum. I have read everything and have also heard every audio book that you could hear there. Fascinating to put yourself in this situation from the seafarers from back then. At first glance, the museum doesn't look big. But once you get inside there is so much to discover. In addition, the museum is divided into different floors. That's why it looks so small from outside. Up from the bottom up to the observation tower just amazing. You can do a lot of things there, such as trying on old clothes, etc. A great variety of topics. I could stay there all day. A small negative point was that unfortunately the audio book in the tower was rustling at the end. You could hardly understand anything then. But otherwise a wonderful museum. I could only recommend it to people who are on vacation here, live nearby or just drive by.
That's why 5 stars for me.

A perfect made museum about the fate of two British ships of the line, many interesting objects found in the wrecks. The whole presentation was made with full respect for the victims of the two vessels.

This museum is simply amazing! From the outside looks small but once you step inside is wow. I recommend it, has a history to tell and if you have some patience I recommend you to listen to it.

This museum was one of the best surprises during our Denmark vacation in 2020. It is really nicely done, telling the story of the sunken ships St George and Defence. There are many historic artefacts in the museum, but also the stories behind, both presented in a conventional way and utilising new digital technologies. There are many opportunities for interaction. Also there is a great lookout from the tower of the building and there is a fantastic playground in front of the museum. We can highly recommend this place both for families with children as well as for adults. Five stars!

Very respectfully and beautifully designed account of the last voyage of the St. George and its impact on the local community ashore. We left with a renewed respect for mother nature, and the tough seamen and people of the Jutland west coast. Highly recommended!

Very interesting museum with lots of ship wreck salvaged items and historical background information. The museum was interesting, clean and the volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. You can even try on naval officers outfits for a photo.

A nice journey in time. The weather helped me to see how hard the life of sailors was.

Incredible impressive museum, the creative way to inform us about the history of the West Jutland coastal area and its effect on human (sea) life, with emphasis on the strandings and loss of the English Royal Navy ships HMS St George and HMS Defence, with more than 1.700 deaths, gave me the "wow" factor. Enough interactive stories and plays for children. The tower view gives you a beautiful view of the surroundings, sea and coastal area. Recommended!

Didn't expect anything really but was pretty much blown away. A well put together museum with well told stories. The entry fee is pretty cheap and the museum store is one of those rare ones where you can actually buy a souvenir that you'll find tasteful even when the holiday is over. The only thing that seemed off was the small tower. It could have used some sort of sight lines to sunken ships to connect what you just learned inside with the actual outside. Would have been a strong point.

The sandy beach is fantastic and the museum is cozy. Kids are free and there are some exhibition items for free outdoors also.

A quaint little museum about two large passenger ships being stranded off the coast and only some being able to be rescued and about the locals who have their lives during the rescue. There are innovative installations that subtly link from one to the next if you are aware enough to notice. The attached cafe was staffed by two delightful students on the day we went (30/Dec/17) and it was a nice warm place in the Danish winter rain. Go if you can.

We absolutely loved this museum - it's so imaginatively curated and such an interesting subject. The design draws you right into the world of shipwrecks and wreckers. Definitely worth a trip to visit and the beach beside it is gorgeous.
