Refik Anadol video art was pretty good but everything else was junk

Stunning location, very calm surroundings and the museum itself is amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Great experience and I would definitely recommend going at least once, and take a walk till the beach. They also have variety of yearly cards and discounts 🤩

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Arken Art Museum in Ishøj. I was captivated by its modern architecture and scenic location by the sea. Arken boasts a diverse and thought-provoking collection of contemporary art.

The museum's curatorial choices showcased a perfect blend of established and emerging artists, providing a unique and enriching experience.

The location of the Arken Art Museum is truly breathtaking. Situated by the sea, the museum offers stunning panoramic views that add an extra layer of beauty to the experience.

It's a truly memorable day trip.

Excellent, incredible and lovely. The museum is lovely combination of modern art and nature. The cafe has unbelievable view to the sea, the landscape is very unique. Cafe offers nice selection of cold food (no warm dishes) which i think makes sense - it's really to avoid the smells of the kitchen in the museum. There are also benches and tables in the cloakroom where one can eat their own food.
The art pieces are meaningful, unlike other modern art exhibitions. Also the permanent exhibitions are still relevant and interesting.
I highly recommend to visit and revisit!
The only downside is getting to the museum by public transport. Without a car it takes at least an hour!

A beautiful and fun place to go!

The ticketing staff and the security staff were really nice. The security staff even offered to take our picture in front of the artwork and we had a small chat together. A memorable experience!

A great museum with very accessible art for all ages. The sculpture park surrouding the museum is also interesting. If it is good weather it is fun to follow the 'arkenwalk' from the train station where a series of twisted street lights made by artist Jeppe Hein shows the way to the museum. The cafe is also good.

I totally liked very much the museum. The location is really nice and the location is by the sea. Great collection modern artworks. Everything is well arrange and very interesting. Museum has a nice restaurant and both has indoor and outdoor seating. Attractive building architecture and unique. Highly recommend to visits this place.

Great modern art museum. Really pushes the boundaries of what art is.
It's not a big museum so I usually spend 1-2 hours depending on exhibition.

We totally loved this museum of modern art close to Copenhagen. The collection of art was well arranged and highlighted some not so mainstream artists that you don’t find everywhere in the world. Also the Location and architecture of the museum already are an attraction!

It is an amazing museum and Leonora Carrington is even more.

We walking from the train station to the museum, and be would have liked a few more signposts near the station to show us the way.

Amazing saw a kestrel in the nature reserve. Great sculpture garden. Loved the Leonora Carrington, very surreal and stimulating. Myths and fairy tales brought to life.

The youngest member of the family had a great time in the “børnehus”. Here it was possible to take part in different projects that mirrored the current exhibition.

Didn’t like the exhibition’s but the museum is AMAZING. The building, the rooms, bathroom, cafe, store… the gardens, the beach. Absolutely LOVED

Great museum of modern art. The architecture of the building is an extra nice touch. Excellent food in the café. A more detailed map would have been nice.

Beautiful building surrounded by canal and wetland. The exhibition has a great collection and nicely put together.

Awesome museum.. I just loved it. Lots of stuff we can explore here. Perfect outing plan for a day with family. Museum is located close to the beach. Enjoyed the walking in the beach. Museum has cafe shop and gift shops. If you wish you can buy it.

Big, pretty, well taken care of museum. The exibithions as of mid 2019 are really, really interesting and pretty disturbing. Totally worth the visit, despite it being a little far from kopenhagen's center.

Cool art and nice open spaces to walk around. The museum is set in a beautiful nature spot close to the beach so you can easily enjoy time outside as well as in.

Van Gogh exception is in town. Great museum. It is possible to take a nice walk on the beach after lunch. Unfortunately, the cafe was filled and it was not possible to try their famous sandwiches.

absolutely loved the exhibition about women in art and was very moved by it & the cafe had great food!
