The Great Belt Bridge

This marvelous engineering achievement, which was opened at 1998, is connecting the eastern and western parts of Denmark. In fact, the bridge is consisting of 2 parts, which connect at the small island Sprogø, at the middle of the Great Belt strait. The total length of the bridge is 18 km., with a width of 31 m. and a maximum height of 254 m. This is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world.

Amazing construction. In Italy we are discussing for a Sicily bridge from 50 years without solutions...

Marvellous piece of engineering work.. 18 km long cable bridge. The unending bridge with sea of both sides is simple beauty at its best. If you have the weather on your side then all the more worth it.

This is such a wonderful place to visit when crossing the bridge. Parking at Isbådsmuseet, there are toilets and with a short walk you end up under the bridge head. At the right moment there is beautiful sunsets.

One of the best bridges I've ever seen and that picture with the bridge on the right is the coolest places I've ever swam but remember guys take your litter home with you 🙂

Fantastic bridge to cross or traverse under. I had the pleasure of going under the great belt and let me tell you that it was great! Excellent continental breakfast, very under rated bridge.

Always amazed of the human precision & engineering when it comes to such colossal creations like this bridge. With it's 18km length it will earn all respect. Felt absolutely charged while driving over it.

A spectacular bridge that has provided convenience and changed the life for Dannish as we understood from our guide that it used to take at least 90 minutes to cross the channel by boat.

Really interesting bridge across the sea just little bit expensive for a truck

Impressive from both sides! I’ve crossed the bridge by ship in the early morning and a couple of days later I’ve crossed the bælt by car with the bridge. Both experiences are unforgettable.
