Awesome Danish fare! Loved the service and staff is super friendly

My fantastic wife found this gem by googling for a kro, a traditional danish eatery.
Let me tell you, wow just wow.
She had a menu of the day and i had the Vega burger.
The menu of the day comprised of a prawn cocktail as starter and beef tenderloin with steamed vegetables.
The prawns were the best I have had in a restaurant, not only was the glass packed with them but the pink sauce and the fill just complemented perfectly.
The meat although medium done was succulently tender, melting like butter, I know you meat eaters out there appreciate that.
For us veggies, the Vega burger was a feast, the paddie was made from beetroot, carrots and parsnip, roughly grated, and with some spice that I still cannot identify. It was a culinary delight.
Served with a good amount of fries and homemade chili-mayo sauce, who would say no to that?
For once I have pictures but please forgive the bad quality as they do not make justice to the dishes.
Warning, do not drool over phone, I will not be accountable.
PS- I was bullied into trying the chocolate mousse dessert... I hope the pictures say it all.
One last thing, service was spot on, the lady serving us was the only one on the floor, they were not super busy but had a handful of tables. I tipped and if you have read ny previous posts you would know that I NEVER tip especially when I intend to go back.

Lovely restaurant with a lake view. Food was amazing. The shrimp first course was delicious, as well as the beef carpacio. My husband had super tender filet mignon and I had the wiener schnitzel, which was very authentic.

very cozy place, sitting outside in the summer is so beautiful and nice. inside the atmosphere is old school and fancy, looks and feels good. the owners are very kind.

Min kæreste fandt dette sted helt tilfældigt på google og bestilte deres fredagsgourmet, som de kører med i januar og februar. Vi blev taget imod af det sødeste og mest servicemindede personale og fik rigtig lækker mad. Vi fik champagne og appetizers til start og derefter 5 lækre og anderledes retter. Prisen er absolut i orden, både for mad og for vinmenu. Den ene af de to nye ejere fortalte passioneret om vinene og der var ro, plads og tid til os. Kæmpe plus at der også er saftmenu, når den ene af os skulle køre hjem. Alt i alt bare en rigtig god oplevelse. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen!
