Restaurant "zur Krone" - St. Goar

Good food and wine. Fairly crowded on a Sunday night. We walked in close to the posted closing time but many groups came in after us. We ate sauerbraten and weiner schnitzel - very good. After a long day of touring this was just what we needed.

Delicious food! Great service, good beer… enough said.

The food is absolutely amazing and for a great price!!! By far an authentic German experience given the food and setting. Waitress speaks great English which helps. Nothing better than a great meal and local wine in the German mountains!!!

Delicious lunch and an extremely polite waiter. He was awesome and spoke excellent English! We had the pork with bacon-mushroom sauce and a special of the day with different types of meat.

We visited here in July 2023. It was the highlight of my trip. The steak/pork plus baked potato was amazing. We went twice while staying there. The city is beautiful and this restaurant really make it entire stay wonderful.

A typical German restaurant, exactly as you'd expect - except for a fairly extensive vegetarian menu! Nice.

I felt a bit awkward walking in, but once seated the hostess was very friendly. Would recommend. Cash only :)

Visited here after my train back to Bacharach didn't turn up. They were actually closed at the time but still cooked me up a great meal. I remember it was a pork dish and the most expensive main on the menu. The service was great from the lovely lady behind the bar as well. Dessert was a simple (but delicious) ice cream sundae. If you want to escape the tourists waiting for their KD ferry, this is a great place away from the river offering authentic German meals.

We went here 2 twice whilst staying in sankt goar and both times it was delicious. Real home cooked food at affordable prices. The typical herring dish was my favourite, would return just for that. Also, very friendly waitress who tried to speak in English too.

Best place in town to enjoy german advanced food. Yummy. Highly recommended. Super Service, excellent food, comfi environment ***** star. We will come back for sure. By the way good wine and beers......

We enjoyed two dinners here while staying in Sankt Goar. Both were excellent at a very good price served by a charming lady who owns (?) or runs the place. Try the Rhenischer Saurbraten for something wonderful. The wine list is limited to local wines but the quality and prices are very good. Charming atmosphere and it seems the locals come here to dine away from the river front favoured by many tourists. Zur Krone is tucked away on Oberstrasse behind the church and Marktplatz in the centre of St. Goar.

Fantastic food especially the schnitzel! The location is beautiful with a very friendly staff. I do not understand why people declare it a pricey place, the prices are absolutely reasonable....

Top of the line! HUGE portions, homage, and less than typical price (for a tourist town). Hope to get the chance to return one day soon!

Best salade in a while. Won't eat another escalope 'wiener schnitzel' this week, cause it won't beat this one

This was one of the few places on our holiday that we went back to the next day. It was top notch. Get a reservation.

Tasty food and beer. Can get busy but the wait is acceptable.
