The food is delicious. More in quantity. I had a breakfast combo, which was quite heavy. I would definitely recommend trying this combo.

If you live in Heidelberg, it would take an hour to reach this place by bus.

Authentic South Indian taste, felt like my home.. Not to be missed and must visit for foodies.. portions were good enough and middle price range.. not at all expensive.. Menu is not a fixed one and it changes everyday..

We ordered masala Dosa, masala tea and masala Coffee. Everything was really good and authentic Indian. Service was quick and there staff is really attentive. We reached there bit earlier than the restaurant opening time and they were kind enough to open the place for us to sit on a wintery evening.

We drove over 60 Km to visit this restaurant to try them out and it was absolutely worth it. The food was very delicious and authentic. The value for money is impeccable.
The service was the main highlight. They staff was very polite and treated us as family. Went above and beyond to accommodate us and even gave us complementary food.

Absolutely recommend. We will visit everytime we can. I was even cosidering getting a job in Waldorf and moving there to eat here everyday 😅

This is a must visit restaurant for those who crave homemade South Indian food. All the dishes I have tried were delicious with a reasonable price tag. The staff with great hospitality make anyone who walks-in very comfortable and kind of homely.

As I visit regularly I have seen their menu being adapted according to the demand and thus showing their commitment towards customer satisfaction. Great job!

To be honest when I first heard the name Banana leaf , my mangalorean brain was both tempted ,curious but Skeptic..Most recently I went to this place in Mannheim serving South Indian which really did not meet my expectation..In the last 5 year in Europe I have never had an authentic South Indian food experience outside of India.

This Saturday morning ,I thought I find out for myself, what the hype is all about. I got here with my family and was pleasently greeted and treated by 3 lovely women enterprenuers, who started this place.

The order was taken super quickly & then What I did not expect happened , Just like in a typical South Indian place , the food is prepared right in front of you. There is no hidden kitchen where the action happens. In minutes it was all ready , The breakfast thali, a masala dosa and chai.

The very first bite of the Dosa with the coconut chutney took me back to my home town.Wow! You know this is the taste of genuine authentic home food.
We were so impressed we packed biryani to cover us for the night.The drive all the way from Heidelberg was totally worth the exclusive fresh items in the thalli, Freshly made Puris , Pongal with „Cashews“, Idlis chutneys Sambar and vada, Bajji , Kesri Baath with real Safron etc.

Bit tired of the cut copy paste Indian hotels in europe.Same curry where different boiled meats are typically dumped.

The banana leaf is authentic where food is made with the care and attention it deserves.This is definitely the best South Indian food you will get in Europe, & I have tried to eat Indian food in almost every country I have visited. 5 stars from my side.

The new kid in town! If you are looking for real, authentic Indian homemade food, this is the place to go to. Delicious, healthy and a nice variety. Check the website for the daily menu, as this varies for every weekday and I personally like this concept a lot. It’s worth going there and experience traditional Indian food.

Food is ok. Some of the dishes are nice I will say overall ok ok. Since there is no other restaurant near sap. If you are craving for Indian food you can give it a try.

We frequently visit this place. The South Indian dishes are amazing and quantity is better than most of the Indian restaurants in this area. Dosas, Dum Biriyani and Pepper Chicken are an absolute go. Being Indian, the spice level suits me pretty well.

Best palak paneer I've had in years. Perfect level of spice. My wife and kids loved the thalis (veg, chicken, lamb).

Good Indian food which leans more towards home cooked food than a restaurant but that's a good thing. The owner was kind enough to let us in ten mins before closing time on a cold winter Monday evening. For me just this act alone is great customer service ( In Germany ;))

We were visiting our friends in Heidelberg and they suggested we eat here. It was awesome. We pre ordered Biryani and Parotha and it was served hot when we arrived. Very friendly owner and the staff working over there were also really polite. The taste of Biryani (chicken with bones) was great, almost same as what we get in Hyderabad. Strongly recommend anyone craving a good biryani. I have not tried other items on the menu so cannot really say anything about them.

Discovered this authentic South Indian restaurant two weeks ago and I’ve been going back there twice a week. The food is just like a home cooked meal. The dosa is freshly made and tasty. I’ve tried almost all the curries and every single one is tasty. They are kind with their portions and will take special orders. I ordered the payasam and it took me to heaven and back. I’m so happy with their food offer. You guys rock

Our whole family loves the food of Banana leaf. Every item we tasted is so delicious. The quality and quantity are matchless. The food is so authentic and you can taste that every item is freshly made without using any preservatives. I highly recommend this place if you want to taste authentic Indian food.

Very authentic and one of the best South Indian Restaurants in the area. Friday Biryani is absolute TOP. Saturday Plates are also delicious. Wednes Day Brinjal Curry is amazing. Highly recommended!
