Randeck Castle

Short walk from Essing to Randeck Castle. The castle is very well preserved. Great view of the river. On the way up you can see a small reservoir (Kleiner Blautopf) with clear water flowing straight down from the sinkholes.

The Burgruine Randeck is on of the more well kept ruines in the area. This is a good place to take the family as there is a restaurant near the entrance and a wheelchair can be taken into what would be the courtyard of the Burgruine Randeck remains. It is also not a far walk from a parking area. There is a great view and lots to take photos of.

Great place for walks with beautiful views! The area has several little touristic places within 10-20 minute walks. There is also a very nice restaurant nearby the castle that works all days.

Lovely castle ruin - the panorama view of the tower is amazing, well worth the 2 Eur entry fee and the climb on the wooden stairs.

This is a great castle ruin to visit, entrance by donation. It overlooks Randeck village with a great restaurant to stop at. both are well worth the visit

Another great ruin of a castle, with a cistern and a dungeon, great view over the Danube valley. A must visit.

Wir waren wandern in Essing. Und sind auch zur Burg Randeck gekommen. Schon der Eingang dort hin war verzaubernd und eine gut erhaltene Burg. Oben angekommen hat man eine tolle Aussicht zur Altmühl und zur Brücke Tatzelwurm. Bezahlt hatten wir 2€ für Erwachsene gleich am Eingang ist die Kasse und wird auf vertauensbasis behandelt.

Was für ein schönes Plätzchen. Nicht unbedingt groß, aber jede Minute Aufenthalt wert.

Bitte unbedingt Kleingeld einstecken, die Kasse ist eigentlich eine an den Eingang genagelte Spardose.

Hinter dem Burggraben findet man eine wunderschöne Kulisse. Alles sehr romantisch und verwunschen. Auf dem gut erhaltenen Turm hat man einen herrlichen Blick über das Altmühltal. Der Kerker ist nur ein fensterloser Kellerraum, aber ein bisschen gruselig ist es schon.

Viel mehr als eine halbe Stunde braucht man zwar nicht, aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, über das Gelände zu streifen und von der Vergangenheit der Ruine zu träumen.

Boa echt cool die Burg. Kleiner Preis der sich auf jeden lohnt. Die Burg ist top gepflegt. Wechselnde Ausstellungen gibt es hier auch. Eintritt ist auf Vertrauensbasis sollte aber bei den kleinen Betrag (Erw. 2€ Kinder 1€) jeder auch zahlen. Es dient halt dem Erhalt.
Erreichbar mit Auto direkt oder über viele Wander Parkplätze in der Umgebung. Aufstieg ist mittelschwer. Uns hat es sehr gefallen vor allen Dingen die super Aussicht über das Altmühltal.
