A great lake side park with a small beach, a volleyball area and a mini kids play area. Lots of well-maintained tree shaded area for a picnic or just to sit and relax.

Awesome lake with plenty space to relax. The small beach is just gorgeous with lots of ducks and super cute ducklings. A small playground, sports facilities you name it. Overall, highly recommend for a nice an relaxed day at the beach or to have some drinks in the evening.

Nice swimming area in the summer! It's a lake, and the deepest I can see the water is around three meters.

Very nice place for family and friends.
Kids can have fun in the lake and parents can take sun bath.
There is volley beach place, mostly occupied but you can have fun with your friends.
You can also enjoy the beautiful nature.

We are from Ukraine!!!
We really want to thank Ulrike Munte for her help, kind heart! There aren't words to express our gratitude!
Just in the first days of war, arriving with small children at night, being scared and then in the morning waking up in this cozy hotel, with feelings that we're safe. We will remember forewer!
Ulrika Munte, the woman who gave many toys and clothes for our children, organized a room where everyone brought toys and even bicycles.
Helped with advice a lot!
Thank you for all your kind supporting words during this difficult time, In our mind will be always the cupcakes and sweets you given us and the most important: you always had time to communicate with us!
Your help made a huge difference!
I truly appreciate all your time spent in this wonderful place!

Calm twin lakes with lots of ground under the water. A grown-up can walk till a quarter and more of the width of the lake. Lots of sand for kids to play.

A really calm place to spend your free time especially during weekends or holidays. The near by park adds the beauty to it, like a forest. One can see plenty of birds, mainly ducks playing in Heidbergsee. A pseudo-beach set can be seen at this place. I recommed you guys to visit this place when you happen to visit Braunschweig or near by areas. One can walk along the shores of Heidbergsee to reach the fields which are located at the back of the See. There you can see many Rapeseed and Sugar Beet farms. The near by community is Masherode. Always do not forget to carry snacks and something to drink while visiting this region, as you cannot find any kiosk or supermarkets nearby. What I always used to do is walk straight from Hauptbahnhof Braunschweig via Salzdahlumer Straße to reach Heidberg park, proceeding to Heidbergsee and then to the Schöppenstraße and finally to Masherode. In addition to this, there is a Springquelle near the farms, where you can spend your evening time with out much disturbance. On the other side of the Heidbergsee you can see the way to Melverode, where I have not been to. Some beautiful photos can be taken at this location for sure. I have posted it in my instagram page. Those who wants to see it, they can always check out my profile name 'alexlorance' in instagram.

Heidbergsee will be one among my favorite destionations in Braunschweig, as you can see the true nature in this region.
