Lehmbruck Museum

Very nice museum with an exceptional friendly staff dedicated to modern and contemporary sculpture.

Beautiful building and interesting collection of sculptures over a century. They look to the future as much as documenting the work of Lehmbruck.
Definitely worth spending an hour or more.

An excellent Gormley show. Gormley fits brilliantly into the architecture and interior design of this museum. Utterly recommended!

Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg

It was very wonderful experience by Lehmbruck Museum. If you like sculpture then you definitely like this Museum.

It has a fantastic location in Duisburg.It is very near to Duisburg Railway Station (Duisburg Hauptbahnhof).
You can reach there by walk from Duisburg Railway Station or you can take a bus till the bus stop Lehmbruck Museum.

It is surrounding by park.

Eclectic exhibitions in an architecturally fabulous building. And - it's on very pretty grounds. Quite the unexpected gem, right in the middle of Duisburg. Make sure to schedule a visit, if you are anywhere near!

Very nice museum featuring the wonderful sculptures of Wilhelm Lehmbruck, with space given over to special exhibits and other modern art. Walking distance from the Duisburg Hauptbahnhof. Worth the price of admission.

Großartiges Museum. Sowohl die Dauerausstellung als auch die jeweiligen Wechselausstellungen beeindrucken. Das Museum ist alleine wegen der großartigen Architektur einen Besuch wert. Oftmals kann man die Kunst auch aktiv erleben (zB. Bei der Shape! Ausstellung).
Das Museum verfügt über ausreichend gepflegte sanitätere Einrichtungen.
Parkplätze befinden sich an den umliegenden Straßen. Diese sind derzeit Sonntags unentgeltlich. Ein Parkplatz ist allerdings manchmal auch ein Glückstreffer.

Das Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg zeigt in großzügigen und architektonisch überwältigenden Räumen eine einzigartige Sammlung moderner Skulpturen.
Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Arbeiten des gebürtigen Duisburger Bildhauets Wilhelm Lehmbrucks, die der Klassischen Moderne zugerechnet werden.
Aber auch die Skulpturen aus anderen Epochen sind absolut sehenswert. Zu sehen sind Werke von vielen wichtigen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts wie Beuys, Christo und Jeanne-Claude, Rebecca Horn, Anish Kapoor, Käthe Kollwitz, Jean Tinguely oder Tony Cragg.
Die offene Architektur des Museums verbindet die Innenräume mit dem Außen des Immanuel-Kant-Parks, in dem sich weitere Skulpturen bekannter Künstlerinnen und Künstler befinden.
Die bis 01.09.2024 laufende Sonderausstellung "Shape!" lädt dazu ein, ausgewählte Skulpturen mit Handschuhen zu ertasten und sich selbst in eine leuchtende Skulptur zu verwandeln.
Absolut empfehlenswert!
