Gruson-Gewächshäuser

Loved it here! The greenhouses are beautifully planted and the atmosphere was amazing! There are even a few animals to discover, like caimans, chameleons and partridges. It took me about an hour to see everything :)

A great place to visit, good value. Peaceful and interesting.

Not expensive and you can spend a few hours here relaxing and seeing everything. There are birds, turtles, snakes, and fish you can see.

My boyfriend and I loved it, it was such a nice place for a date. Everything was beautiful and interesting. And one man working there showed us a plant that had an special smell, he was so passionate about it it made the whole experience even better!

I only wish they had overnight events, but I can understand that it's hard to organise.
I take all my visiting friends and relatives to this place, it's absolutely amazing, and every time I notice something new. Friends advice: just get a year ticket in your first visit!

Amazing place!

Interesting large exhibition. An adult ticket costs €3.5 and is totally worth the price. You get a discount for the zoo with these tickets as well.

The greenhouses are tended to by volunteers and are amazing. They are a hidden gem.

8 or 9 houses are linked to a circuit starting behind the entrance with palm, figgs and bananas among which you'll find a Strelizia nicolai (giant white bird of paradise) under a high ceiling with a small walk through the canopy. To the left is a greenhouse with fern and a goldfish pond, followed by a house collecting plants from the Canaries and moving on to the tropics. There's another pond with large goldfish, a cayman (though we didn't see it) some type of chicken, a gecko and two cameleon. The exhibition also includes fishtanks (one is a small saltwater & coral tank) and 2 terrarium (one with yellow and blue spear poison frogs).
The Gruson greenhouses also have a waterbasin, which seems to be dedicated to the victaria plant (giant waterlily), but was empty (12/18). Another highlight is the small, but well kept greenhouse w orchids, bromelia and carnivorous plants as well as a seperate collection of Cactacea.
