We were looking for alternatives around the area for dinner and we found this restaurant. It turned out to be a very good decision. Nice tapas and lots of variety. The restaurant is very cozy and it has a very nice decoration. It is indeed a restaurant that we will be back to, for sure!

Fabulous German cuisine with local Black Forest themes and locally sourced ingredients.
Served in tapas style with superb local wines.

This is the second time we visited this restaurant. The style is Black Forest tapas. Sounds odd, but the food is fantastic.

All the dishes are locally sourced and change with availability. There are basically three categories of offerings, cold, hot and desert. You place an order and they come out grouped together. So the images show the cold dishes (with the flammekuchen) and then the hot ones . . . sorry but we were too full for desert.

We did a pick and mix style order so we could maximise the number of dishes to taste as there is plenty of choice. Even something as simple as corn soup had a hint of something that made it really special.

This is the type of restaurant that you want to book in advance for and is worth making a special trip to eat here.

What a wonderful surprise! The menu is super rich and we had a difficult time to choose our dishes and for a reason! Absolutely everything we had was great 😊 service was very friendly as well. Def check it out if you’re in the area ❤

Wow, what a find!!!

Sure, it's a bit far from central Freiburg, but totaly worth the drive. (If you have a car, there's enough parking space on nearby streets).
The food was absolutely amazing. I loved the tapas concept for local food, which allowed me to taste so many different things. Also, the dishes are very fairly priced, especially for their quality.

LOVED the ordering and payment method through the website. Sure, you can order with the lovely waitress, but the ability to simply order and pay without waiting made our experiece perfect, and the waitress was so attentive regardless.

The food is great. The ambiance too. The staffs are all nice and very accomodating. We had our first date here and everything is nice. We are both happy. I love the painting of the Mother Deer and her kid. The Wessen of the Schwarzwald. 🥰

I skipped starters and went straight for the potato, horseradish and beetroot soup (well-balanced flavours, tasty and creamy), then the Flammkuchen with mountain cheese and onions/chives (thin, great cheese, well-balanced) and wild garlic sausage (sausage was cooked properly, salad and its dressing balanced the fattiness of the pork sausage perfectly).

They also have a great selection of tasty vegan and vegetarian dishes (my friends and I tried the mousaka and the pearl barley "cake" thingy, both really tasty).

What sold it for me was the braised pork cheeks with white bean mousse. The pork cheeks were perfectly cooked (medium-rare), tender that you can cut them with a spoon, and very nicely paired with a red wine reduction (that worked really well, curious what wine they used). The white bean mousse complimented the dish perfectly, great texture, smooth and velvety.

I'd say on average you pay 25-30 euros for a big/proper meal (I had in total 6 tapas + side dish of ginger carrots, which is equivalent to a 3-course meal - which is true, I was completely full afterwards.) My friends paid 20-25 (none of us drank).

Highly recommend the place, try at least once, the high quality of the food and proper plating for this price is hard to find. (Waitress was also nice and very helpful)

The concept is super, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. There are also vegan, vegetarian, lactose and gluten free options.
The place seemed quite popular, so booking a table is highly recommended.
The booking process is simple and smooth and all the necessary and up-to-date information on the recent covid regulations, vegan, etc. options and the 2-hour time limit is easy to find on the website.
Honestly, this is one of the highlights of our vacation so far, we may come back once before we leave.

My wife and I had a reservation for 12.Oct. She has Celiac disease, not a fashion statement against gluten, but the real thing. Even a tiny amount renders her horribly ill. We had contacted them, and they completely facilitated us with a "Omakase" style dinner, asking if we didn't like certain things and how hungry we were. Service was stellar and surprisingly quick. It was insanely good. The best meal at a restaurant this year. Warm and welcoming, amazing and affordable. This restaurant is a "Must Do" for anyone in the area. Highly Recommended.

The restaurant is very calm and chic! The food is excellent, the perfect combination of Spanish tapas but with German food.

German tapas. Seriously some of the best food I have ever eaten. The staff were professional, friendly and speak English. You can also order and pay via their web portal. This place is just a short trip outside the city and can be reached using public transport.

The valentine menu was a great idea. We were lucky enough to get one and it definitely made our evening very pleasant! Great food, great idea, great service! Also very tasty and cosy atmosphere in times without Covid-19. We'll definitely come again!

Excellent restaurant from ambient, menue and service side. The unique thing is that each meal can also be ordered in Tapas size which allows to choose a variety of meals and enjoy even moore - highly recommendet experience. Get your table reserved well ahead of your planned visit

Excellent food, definitely get the tapas. All tapas were very delicious. I can highly recommend the Schwarzwald Tiramisu as a desert, too.
