Plassen Castle

Great place for a sight seeing visit. Beautiful big castle, great view. Also there are two different museums inside and we enjoyed both - Also with children. History and miniature museum.

Was unable to go inside but a fascinating place to walk around and look at without much legwork. You can drive up into the arcade, but unsure the parking situation on weekdays.

A visit to the Plassenburg is definitely a recommendation when visiting the upper part of the Franconian region. It is an impressive facility and the view is overwhelming. and the tin figure museum, well, if you like it, you can visit it too.

The castle can be reached with a city bus or on foot (in about 30-40 minutes) through narrow and picturesque streets and alleyways from main train station. Once at the top, you can have a nice view of pretty little town of Kulmbach. There's museum, a souvenir shop and a restaurant in the courtyard. Also, you get public WiFi.

Incredible beautiful place. You can take long walks. A lot of forest around.

Amazing castle placed on the hill over Kulmbach. You can go there via bus, just ask in the tourist information center for it. Be sure to look to there massive figure collection.

The view from the top is beautiful. The castle also houses four lovely museums.

This place has amazing views. In addition everything is within walking distance. Will come back again in the summer.

This place is very pleasant to go for some scenic walks, explore the castle and enjoy the surrounding views. In th winter season you can park inside the castle and start your exploring from there (parking is for free inside the main court). There is also a cosy restaurant located at the castle which serves good food and has some spectacular views of the town.

This castle is really hard to reach ( at least is was for me). Cars are not suppose to drive up there. But is worths every second of struggle! It is beautiful, huge and very well maintained. The guide we had was also amazing! It was as if he had a library in his head. He told us a lot of interesting things and he answered all of our questions. We had already been in a lot of castles and we have heard parts of history so we could see the connections of families and places and ask for more information. He seemed eager to us more information. If you go there, take the tour. It really worths it!

This Castle is amazing. The views are awesome and museums inside the Castle are small but very inexpensive and we'll put together.

This is istorical location from Kulmbach! There is very big, beatiful and interesting museum for this town.

Great castle with nice museums. You can have a great view of the old part of Kulmbach. Definitely worth a visit when you are around.
