Brauhaus Kloster Machern

Beautiful inside and out. We visited here last summer and were so impressed with all of it, the beer garden, the store, the view of the bridge and the beer hall. We recently came back during the winter and even though the outdoor area wasn’t open it still had a certain beauty to it. In the winter the large beer hall seats many and there’s so much offered for comfort food. Not to mention the beer is delicious! It doesn’t matter the weather, this place is special!

We really liked the restaurant. Excellent service, delicious food at reasonable prices. Very nice atmosphere. I recommend everyone to visit. Suitable for children. You can visit a museum nearby.

They played my type of smooth early eighties American hits, and I knew most of them, and then amazingly played some afro beats in the mix. Beautiful humble people who cater to the customers' needs!!!! The menus are newspapers, which was so cool to see!!!!!

Beautiful historical building, lovely food, good coffee..... what's not to like!? On top they have a small shop with a Bierautomat!! AND you can buy the beer in nice wooden boxes - they make perfect gifts for beer drinkers!!

Had a great meal here. It was a quiet time of day, but the atmosphere was chill and we enjoyed our very filling and delicious meal.

Great brewery in a massive old closter. The whole place is pristine, with various rooms, large bar, brewery, shop and two large terraces. The Helles beer was tiptop, unfiltered and very drinkable. Food was great, along with the service. They even have an automat for buying a crate of beer!

Perfect place with tasty food and good view. And also working in the day time when everything around is closed. So for a next time we choose this brauhaus again!

Nice home brewed beer and nice food. Very nice atmosphere, both inside and outside. There are separate shops (wine, beer, distillates), a chapel and a wine bistro as well.

Service is fast compared to a lot of places. Really attentive and made us feel welcomed. Dog friendly as well. Speaks both english and deutsch. Beer is how i like it, vom fass.

But other guests were staring at our dogs haha. Overall had a great time.

Wonderful restaurant that is part of a larger brewery/winery. The restuarant is like sitting in a massive beer hall, and their menu reflects that atmosphere. We started with the pork plate and potato soup. The pork plate was piled high with smoked pork, salad, and bread. The bread was delicious, we could have eaten just that! Then we got flamkuchen, schnitzel with beer sauce and the roulade. Everything was delicious and generous portions. I topped everything off by testing their helles and then a hefeweizen bier. Everything went well together and two adults and two children came to less than 90 Euros. We're already talking about coming back in the summer, but we think it will be packed.

A restaurant so big must have something good going on in order to keep itself up and it does deliver .
The good food the friendly waiters and the great atmosphere .we tried different dishes and they were all tasty (including the interesting beer sauce for the Schnitzel that sounds weird at the beginning ) .
The staff was considerate of the two kids we had on the table too . Definitely a place to check if you are around .

Great place, beautiful interior, friendly staff and good food - Braumeister Schnitzel was really tasty with beer based sauce, its crispy coating and really good fries.
Of course in addition come nice German beer - helles, dunkel and wheat. Do not expect ales or ipas but German classics. So if in need of a beer in wineries area - this is your place!

A very interesting and historic complex of buildings housing museums, brewery, winery, restaurant, function rooms, etc. we ate in the Brauhaus and the interior is stunning - we were not prepared for the really cool Art Deco design inside. The food and drink was excellent, with surprisingly reasonable prices. Will definitely come back.

Good food and brilliant atmosphere inside and outside in the garden. Cute little playground for the young visitors. I think overall it is worth it for the scenic location alone. Service is average but you can't have everything sometime

Around 5 kilometres north of Bernkastel centre, this former monastery is a grand and huge site, with attractive gardens and good views (particularly of the half-built new High Mosel Bridge). The main bar is stunning and provides an impressive backdrop to some excellent food and beers brewed on site. There are a number of rooms to eat and drink in, and a small shop where the beers can be bought to take away. You might be in wine country but the Machern is a must-visit.

Very tasty food and beer, great atmosphere, and excellent, friendly service.

I had the Sauerbraten with beef with purple cabbage and instead of potato dumplings I had spetzle. It was so good.
