This is a very nice riverside walking path that is mixture of foot sensation, obstacle course, nature education, and playground. Easily the most well designed, well maintained barefoot pad I've seen (And it's 30+ years old!)

I used Google maps to direct us to this exact pin, and found clear signs for parking (large, free, paved, partially shaded lot) and then while walking, signs and Google led us through a small tunnel to the kasse, where I purchased tickets for myself and children (5 euro for adults, 3 for kids 4+ years, free for younger than 4); there was no line on this week day September 2022 afternoon. Before we entered the park, we had a snack in front of the park entrance at one of the several picnic benches, where there are also clean indoor bathrooms and bicycle parking stations. Once you enter the grounds, there is a foot washing station, lockers to rent for a 1 euro coin (which I did, and left our shoes, our snacks since I didn't know there would be picnic benches along the route), and free open cubbies if all you need to leave are your shoes. I wore the two year old, while the other two walked. You enter the path by diving in to the mud path, which is by far the best mud pack I've seen, about 1 foot deep of pure mud and muddy water, with globs of mud sifting between your toes - it was wonderful. The rest of the path is less messy, mostly different walking textures and some water features, and lots of balance beams and obstacles. The nicest surprise was the opportunity to wade through the Nahe river, which I was unfortunately unable to do as I my kids were too small. It appeared to get quite deep (knee to waist high, I'd guess), but there are two cables running across for you to hold onto to keep your balance; if you don't feel like wading across the river, there is a wooden bridge just ahead that will bring you across to rest of the path. If I remember correctly you don't miss anything by taking the shortcut provided by wading across the river (rather than the bridge) except perhaps one informational sign that was just slightly different from the rest on the path, I've posted it it in this review. The playground stations are near the end of the path, which is good because that is when my 4yo had just begun complaining.

The path is indeed 3.5 km but thankfully quite flat, but VERY sunny with very few shady opportunities. It is basically a big loop, but since both directions hug the river, it feels like an out-and-back, just 50 meters apart There are many benches and picking tables throughout the course. There is a food kiosk at the end, with tables to sit, relax, and enjoy wine, beer, ice cream, or pretzels after your journey 😊. They do take cards, though it didn't work today.

The path was not very crowded at all on this particular day; we never had to wait for anyone else getting stuck behind them. Bring water with or without food and hats/sunscreen if sunny, and wear clothes that you can get wet up to your knees/waist in (or a change of clothes!).

A really fun experience! The park is really well kept and there is such a great variation of things to do. You go through mud, cold water and can even Wade through the river. You walk over lots of surfaces like rocks, sand and corks. And there are lots of playground - style activities. The whole family would have lots of fun here - it only costs €4 per person. My favorite part was definitely the boat across the river that your partner has to control from the shore.

Fun and unique experience! We packed a lunch & brought it with. There are picnic tables along the trail to stop at.
I will say some of the textures are repetitive (wood chips) but overall very enjoyable!

Love, love, love this place! It’s such a neat and unique experience! Walking barefoot in so many different terrains and even crossing a small river makes it a great place to find your inner child again. I’ve gone here 3 times and had a blast each time. It’s a perfect cheap outdoor activity for Germany’s beautiful summer days!

€4 for adults, €2.50 for children. Ample parking and lockers available for your shoes for €1. Great layout and much larger than I had expected, this barefoot path was exemplary! Reserve 2-4 hours to fully enjoy. Many tables and benches to stop along the way for snacks or to take in the gorgeous scenery. Educational and also a delight for the senses, I highly recommend and will surely visit again soon!

Our 3 year old had a great time here. We came early so not busy at all. Would def come back. The snack stands are a plus and bathrooms were clean. Parking was free as far as we could tell.

Prepare yourself for a lot of walking....barefoot of course. Highly recommend a camelbak compared to water bottles. It was wonderful family time and they had a large playground at the end. I recommend a change of clothes in case you slip while crossing the stream too.

🙂We were born in Colombia, in a humble neighborhood of the city, when we were girls we ran through the streets, full of dust without shoes and the sun on our foreheads. BarfuBpfad Frankfurt Frankfurt Germany, it will be that piece of land that they too will take as their memory. barefoot walking here. with my nephews, watching them grow up in the middle of a year full of strange things. to give you a Smile in Germany, the place that opened the door of your house. with hope in the middle of this #pandemic.

Always a good time. There are so many things to step on and it makes everyone feel like a kid. Last year the river was so high, and this year it's so much lower that we could walk through and play in the water for a bit. We also enjoyed the boat across the river at the end. It's inexpensive and a good way to spend a couple hours outdoors.

It was a beautiful natural foot massage park ;) I think a day out in good weather could be planned here. Even better like a family outing. The kids would love it. The entrance fee is very economical plus there are toilet facilities and also drinks and food at the entrance/exit. I would definitely visit this place again :)

We loved the experience! It was a perfect day for myself, my friend and our 7 active kiddos (ages 3 - 13). My friend wore her 3 year-old on her back. All of the other kids walked the course. Before you go, know that your legs will get muddy and dress accordingly. We all wore shorts and had no problems :-)

My kids are 12, 5, and 3 and they love going here. A word of warning though don't go on a very hot day or else the stones and other parts of the path will be to hot for your feet, especially children's feet. This happened to us last year but they still had fun playing in the river to cool off and are so excited to go back!

It was a beautiful, isolated, and quiet place to enjoy a beautiful day outside, in nature, and BAREFOOT! I had a good time but more importantly my kids had a GREAT time and expelled lots of energy. Will go again for sure!

Wonderful and truly unique experience for the whole family (4 euro per adult and 2.50 euro per child). Pack a picnic lunch or enjoy what the imbiss stand has to offer. Bring a change of clothes just in case as adults can expect to get messy up to your knees. There are lockers you can rent for 1 euro but they fill up fast. There are shelves to store your shoes while you walk through the park. There's also a pool close by (walking distance) for which you can buy a combination ticket.

Great for hot days or just for a nice relaxing time with the family. Walking though the mud or over the obstacles and through the Nahe river, it makes for a beautiful day. There are plenty of places to sit and have a break and just take in the surroundings or even have a bit of lunch. Great place for a picnic. If you prefer not to picnic at the entrance/exit there is a like Imbiss where you can get small things to eat and drink or even ice cream if you so choose. If you are looking for a bit more to eat, when you exit the Barfußpfad and head in the direction of the parking area, there is a nice little restaurant where you can get some good food.

Great place to take your family. Lots of obstacles for challenging kids and there's a playground at the end of the course. Staff is helpful. There's places to eat within a short walking distance.
