Straubing Zoo

We do this every year with our kids, and they love it. The team is super helpful. Today, there was a mix-up with our English guide, and the director of the tour went ahead and did it for us. The highlight for this year was the lions. It is a smaller zoo, but they still have lots of cool animals. The perk of being a smaller zoo is that it is not as crowded. So, we went to see the lions, kangaroos, tigers, and other animals without being crowded for space. They do have a small food stand with the usual German foods and a small treat selection. There is also a playground, gift shop, and place to feed some goats up close.

I recommend checking them. Can't wait until next year.

Really nice little zoo and a lot of beautiful animals to see great to visit with family or friends

Clean, great variety of species to see, small enough for a 3 yrs old to walk and be independent, affordable. They have a park plaza, and concessions stand. If you have a picky eater bring your own food. We visited during the week in the morning time and it was just perfect.

The place is great for a fun day with the kids. We spent 4 hours there and it was fun for everybody. You have a place to rest, to eat and a playground for the kids. Will go again.

It’s a tiny zoo but it has quite a few interesting animals. I find it easy to get around because it’s a linear way through, as you can see in the photo I posted with the map. I spent 1,5 hours there and saw everything, taking my time to take it all in.
My favorite animals to see: the tigers, bears and penguins.
Normally there’s also lions in the zoo but they are temporarily not present since they are raising funds to expand their “zoo home habitat”.
There’s also a section where you can feed tiny goats, that was cool.

Amazing place for both kids and adults. All the animals there are very well cared and active during my visit early in the afternoon. The inside + outside view design allow visitors to view and observe the animals from various angles. 7 Euros per person and free parking are indeed worthy!

Really nice zoo, smaller but a good assortment of critters and other things, lots of shade so a nice place to go anytime.

It’s a small zoo, but they have the largest tortoises I’ve ever seen.

Not too big to make you tired by walking, it takes around one hour to visit all animals.

Enjoyed it a lot. Animals that are not in any zoo (tiny mankeys, penguins).

Nice zoo with lot of interesting animals. We spent about 2 hours and children were happy.

The zoo is located in a very beautiful and quiet place. It is well maintained and it is no too big, good when having small children.
There is a typical "Spielplatz" for children that is really fun for them.

Nice enjoyable and great hospitality

Great Zoo, many different animals and birds, café in centre, childrens play area and petting area. We visit here most weeks. Most enclosures are a good size although, as with most Zoo's some look too small.

I expected to see more animals and is not so clean as it should be. And in some places you can’t see very well the animals. The good part is that you can see Pinguins, lions, bears and lots of birds.
