It was an amazing stay. The rooms are big and clean and comfortable. The restaurant is a must try, the atmosphere is stunning and the food is good. The whole castle has an amazing view.

This is definitively a must visit.

We did not visit the restaurant, but enjoyed the tour through the museum and the quaint atmosphere of this medieval castle. They have an exhibition on medieval torture and many other historic events from this area. Follow our adventures @SLYSTRX

Another well kept castle with a small museum. There is only parking for about 4 cars at the gate.
We didn't eat there.

Renovated castle, good restaurants with traditional specialities from Thuringia. A small museum presenting furniture and clothes from medieval times. You have a fantastic view from the tower.

The castle is accessible from the parking lot and the rear back path leading from Holzhausen through the evergreen forest with a nice view on Holzhausen itself (at thr afternoon, when the sun moves to the west and lights up the town) and the other 2 Gleichen (castles) at the morning, when the sun lights them up from the east.

This hotel is amazing. The service is great and staff is very friendly. Especially Mannu Ille, the head over there. She is very nice. The whole caste is amazing. We explored it throughoutly and its a must see place for everyone.

More interesting than expected. The tower can be accessed. Our 6 & 8 y kids were excited. Phantastic view over the countryside. Highly recommended.

It's hard to get there by walking. A great view from the castle. Vegetarian food &wine are tasty.
