Dornier Museum Friedrichshafen

Wonderful Museum. First, the staff here are wonderful. Extremely friendly, helpful, and make the visit special. This is an excellent museum. Classy. Great aircraft. I also enjoyed learning about the history of Claude Dornier and the company that he built. I had lunch in the cafe and the food was really good. To get to the museum, it is an easy train or bus ride from Friedrichshafen Train station. Highly recommend this museum for aviation enthusists.

Very nice museums, not very big, but has a lot of details on everything from the start of aviation and space travel, and how Dornier's designs were so popular, good selection of aircrafts to see and even get in. It's worth the visit, expect to spend around 2-3 hours there.

One of the best places to visit in Friedrichshafen. We went with a 2 yo child and he had such a great time. There are some mini wheeled planes to play with and there's also a big Lego-like area where small kids can play. Also recommended for adults. The price was around 12€ each adult. The child did not pay.

Very nice museum, many exibts, details, the opportunity to get in airplane and helicopter, great for all age categories.

We had a very nice day here. It's only three miles from Friedrichshafen, and well worth a visit. It's a very modern museum about a clever man in the past and all he achieved. Good prices and friendly staff.

Amazing aviation history! Lots to do for kids as well, like climbing into exhibited air planes, kid friendly explanations, playground, and flight simulator. It's close to the Zeppelin hanger.

A must-see of the area! Especially for all airplane and flying lovers! What is really amazing, you can go in of some of the airplane exhibits. Really enjoyable experience.

Wowwwwww just loved the detailing... Each and every document about the aircraft making is preserved and show cased well...staff was very cooperative... Don't forget combo ticket for 20euro that let's you see both Dornier and Zeppelin museum.. also has a gift shop... amazing for kids visit as well... interesting visual aids...covers a lot from airboats to space ships...also has a wedding facilities

Excellent museum about Dornier and his aeronautical knowledge and planes. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. Small planes for the little ones. Restaurant closing due to personnel shortage.

And excellent little museum. The airfield location is very good for watching the Dornier aircraft coming and going plus the airships of the Zeppelin company opposite. The exhibits are very good and very well presented. There are lots of models to admire. My favourite is the D.O. X. The museum is very children friendly. There’s plenty of parking.

A pretty museum right next to the Friedrichshafen Airport. In model planes Showcase, you can turn on a projection, which shows you in silhouettes how which plane is called with some of it's technical specs. There was a special area about space programs the company was taking part of.
Otherwise there is a big hangar with some real planes and in some of them you can even get in. There is an outside area with few more planes to get in and a little train (mainly for kids) which is going through the place between and under the planes.
Downstairs you can find a Cafe, where you can sit, enjoy your coffee and a piece of cake and enjoy the view of airships taking off and landing

Easy access by public transport and sufficient parking makes it easy to visit. Great quality display and a very interesting history on Germany aviation excellence.

10/10 would visit again, lots of historical and technical information which I found really interesting, the place is very clean and well maintained.

Cool place to know more about German aviation history but you have to wait 30 minutes to use the flight simulator.

Planes! From old bi-planes to modern jets! What's not to like?
Recommended in any rainy day in Friedrichshafen, plus great cafe restaurant with good food.

Great museum! There are lots of interesting stories to read and they are well presented. We spent the whole afternoon there and still didn't get to see everything.
