Chain donkey - Bicycle Trade & Production Service

On the last day of a 3-month bike tour I stopped by for a used cardboard box to put my bike in for the flight home. They were happy to provide me one for free. The first shop I contacted offered a badly damaged box for 40€ cash only. Chain Donkey is a class operation, you can see that the emphasis is on an old-fashioned love for bikes and repair rather than merely sales.

The owner, cigarette somking lover like many people in Germany, of this shop is super friendly and helpful.
Price of their service is reasonable. Everything they charged me was acceptable and cheaper than my place, Korea.
Highly recomanded.

The owner is very polite and helped me fix the issue which no other shop in the area did. Reasonably priced and very good service. Highly recommended for all your bike needs. I saw they dealing so patiently with other customers while I was waiting for my repairs.

Very helpful! And very accommodating... Everytime i go with some problem with my bike it generally gets fixed... Or i receive honest advise about whether it's worth fixing or needs to be replaced. And most importantly they easily understand my broken german, and also converse in english when my level of german language is not able to explain what i need! :)

Excellent value for money and service.
I now realise, having previously been to a different bike repair place in sachsenhausen that I was totally ripped off by the other place as they charged me ten times the price for the same job as this place charged me.
For small repairs they do it there on the spot for a very low pice. For big repairs you leave your bike with them. Very central location. Definitely go here and not to the other one in Sachsenhausen!

The quality of service here is just fantastic. I couldn't rate it 10/5 because google won't let me. But back on the subject at hand, they have a nice selection of bikes, and accesories. And best of all the service... they just go above and beyond. I'll be visiting again for sure.

Super sympathischer, kleiner Fahrradladen im Herzen Europas. Termintreue und Kundenzufriedenheit wird hier groß geschrieben und möglich gemacht. Auch fachlich gibt es nichts zu meckern, alles tipptopp. Klare Empfehlung!

Ich habe mein Retro-Rennrad hier einmal generalüberholen lassen. Es musste einiges ausgetauscht und erneuert werden. Die Beratung diesbezüglich war hervorragend und sehr transparent. Die vorab Inspektion wurde mit mir gemeinsam in der Werkstatt gemacht und die einzelnen Position dann im Kostenvoranschlag notiert. Auch hier wusste ich direkt, was an € auf mich zukommt.

Ich habe mich sehr gut betreut und fair behandelt gefühlt. Ein besonderes Lob geht hier an Yunus, der einem Laien auch nochmal das ein oder andere extra erklärt und auf die Notwendigkeit gewisser Funktionen hinweist.

Ich kann das Team von Kettenesel definitiv weiterempfehlen!

Sehr gute Arbeit, sehr sympathische Menschen. Die Preise entsprechen der Wertigkeit der Arbeit und der Kettenesel ist nicht der günstigste Anbieter, muss er aber auch nicht sein, da er einen super Job macht und die Preise rechtfertigt sind. Die Terminvereinbarung klappt unkompliziert und die Arbeit ist entsprechend schnell/pünktlich erledigt. Vielen Dank

Ist was nicht da findet, man aber problemlos Alternativen. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich komme wieder.
Wichtig: frühzeitig Termine ausmachen, der Laden ist wohl beliebt und sehr gut besucht.
