This zoo is very nice! For €7,50 per adult and free parking in October the price is really low.

The majority of people says this zoo is small but I disagree and think this zoo is actually pretty large. A lot of well made habitats, however I do have to agree that some look like they could use a little attention. But this zoo is based on naturalism, so I think it’s fine.

A lot of opportunities to see animals from up close and take good photos. Also some (very )special species, like the black jaguar, clouded leopard and red panda.

If you want to you can spend the whole day here, there’s enough to watch. Most of the animals are very active, unlike in many other zoo’s where the majority of the animals are sleeping.

The only negatives were the constructions, which made it impossible to see some animals. Also, the animal information in mainly only German and mostly cash only payments at food stands.

But overall, especially for the price this park is very good! There were also very little people, al though we did visit on a Monday.

It was awesome but I'd advice you not to go there during winter. We kept taking warm breaks during animal visits hehe. The staffs are so friendly and eager to answer your questions.

Great value for the price.

Did not know what to expect before we went, and was pleasantly surprised by what we got to see for the price ee paid.

Sadly some animals were not in their habitat because of construction projects.

Disclaimer: don't expect a premium zoo.

Wow, we are very impressed with how well the enclosures have been taken care of. The animals looked healthy, and relaxed. The zoo itself was also very clean. There is a nice bird collection and the mom orang-utan with the newborn stole the show for us. A rare sight. The entrance price is also very nice.
The zookeepers are also very nice and love to tell you about the animals that they work with.

Would definitely recommend to visit this zoo!

I loved this zoo, not too big, but very nice, in the middle of a beautiful park. There are some very interesting animals like tapir, ant-eater and rhinos. All of these just at arm's length. Outside of the zoo there is a n astonishing beautiful botanical garden. Really enjoyed it and recommend

Small zoo but nicely maintained.
You can see panda, 🦓 giraffe 🦒 Emu and others. The Dortmund Zoo, in full Zoologischer Garten der Stadt Dortmund, is the zoo of the German city of Dortmund which was opened on 1958. The zoo is home to around 1500 animals from around 240 species. Zoo Dortmund is best known for the large collection of South American animal species.

This is a beautiful zoo with wildlife everywhere. Chickens run freely, and the exhibits and enclosures are generous. The staff is kind and thoughtful. The animals seem well-cared-for. It will take the whole day to see the zoo plan accordingly.

Small Zoo, but perfect for spending a couple of hours. We hvae visited during early March when it was not a season, but still nice, and in spring or summer I can imagine it is even better as Zoo is in perfect park where botanical garden is. You can reach the Zoo with U49 and than walk like 500 meters.

Very well maintained zoo(Entry is 8€/person and no extra fee for a camera) . Some enclosures are bit small but the zoo workers seem knowledgeable. The park outside zoo is very beautiful. All in all, a great place to spend a summer Sunday. OH AND THEY HAVE A RED PANDA!

Its really nice place to visit with children. Orangutans and south American animals are special attraction. Its very refreshing to spend time in nature. I have seen Peacock so close from 50 cms distance which walks around the zoo freely. Animals are treated well and taken good care of.
It costs 8€ for entrance & 2€ for parking, its cheap when compared to other zoos in this region.

The location was really good, the diversity of animals also was astonishing. Walking in the forest in a rainy day was full of positive feeling . Also, except the lions that are fair, I would rather call it a miniature zoo.Lol

Quite a nice zoo, right next to a big park. The tickets are very cheap for a zoo. Lots of interesting animals. Few animals I haven't seen before are the big capibara, alpacas, armadillo and sloths. Parking is free (there were no gates nor parking ticket to buy), big parking lot too.

Feeding times were stated on a board at the entrance. Pinguins swimming walking for fish, lion getting a rabbit, apes getting fruit. Saw some other animals getting fed at around 5, like the giraffe. Highly recommend to see how they eat leaves from thorny vines with their super long tongue.

A restaurant in the middle had some nice crunchy fries.

The giraffes have a fantastic enclosure! It's open air with no large fences to look through and you get to be quite close to them!

The zoo is very interesting. Ticket is 8 euro and 2 euro is parking at the spot for the whole day. There are a lot of animals in natural surroundings, but there are no lions or tigers.
