Although I'm not the craziest beer lover, I enjoyed the museum. Everything was in German, which I don't understand. So, I used Google Translator to understand labels and other written texts.
There are guides in other days and beer tasting is available. So, definitely check their website and make a reservation in advance. Without a reservation the entrance is free and there is no tasting, although you can buy souvenirs and/or beer from their shop at the reception.
The museum contains the history of beer industry in Westphalian region in the 19th and 20th century, including individual producers, production processes, consumer habits, technological advancements and much more.
Spent 1.5 hours inside and enjoyed the museum.

Very interesting visit. There is a film in German with English subtitles and that was interesting too. One of the staff had been there around 46 years and travelled the world. He was very welcoming as well as the staff. There was no guided tour at the time or beer sampling so the visit was free. Great for a short visit.

Very interesting small museum which is free to enter! There are a lot of brewery machinery, posters and bottles. True fans of German beers would be delighted to experience the atmosphere in this museum. It is not a popular destination so it won't be overcrowded. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting Brewery Museum Dortmund even if you are not a fan of beer.

Nice small museum of big brewery with more than 100 years of history) The only cons is that no-one speaks English. Will be especially interesting for people that are aware of brewing process. Entrance is free.

I feel as if this is an overlooked gem in Dortmund. I went with two friends and we were the only three in the museum the entire time. The museum is free and the history and memorabilia in it is really fascinating. When I was there, there was a man who worked for the brewery when it was still producing beer and he told us all about the museum and answered any questions we had. If you have a free gap of time and are looking for something to do, take a quick u-Bahn to this museum and check it out.

The people here are so nice and warm. The museum tour is free. Though everything is mentioned in German, the lady at the counter would give you a three page English booklet which guides you through the museum. You can ofcourse Google translate a lot of the descriptions. There is a short movie available with English subtitles which draws a good precise of the history of Breweries in Dortmund. After an hour long tour, don't miss the beer for ein Euro at the exit. This place should be in the top 10 list of Dortmund.

The museum is absolutely underrated!! It shows detailed development of the beer history in Dortmund, and visitors can buy local beer at the entrance of the museum with an attractive price.
If you are lucky enough, you could meet the DAB former staff/ spokesperson :) he is very friendly and nice, that he is very happy to chat with visitors and introduce the beer history around!

Unfortunately there is not much to read in English and nor was there an option for an English tour but the staff was kind, one of them tried to tell us a few stories, alas we don't speak German. Apart from that it is a very nice museum. There was no entry fee, thus don't forget to buy a few beers at least :)

Really nice museum! Lots of things to see and great explanations. The panels are only in German but you can get an English translation booklet if needed. Super friendly staff! It would be even more amazing if you could taste some of the beers there. Entrance is free, so dont miss it out.

Really interesting plus lovely, welcoming staff. Shame you can't actually have a beer here, although there were some takeaways in a fridge near the entrance.

One of the must see places you should visit to understand the history and culture of the city. Our guide was a really friendly retired worker from the factory who shared with us a lot of interesting information and stories.

A very good museum highlighting the history of Dortmunder Union beer. The volunteer guide was a retired employee, who had been with the brewery since the '50s. Unfortunately he spoke no English, so most on the tour had to receive their information by translation. Not ideal, but it worked.
