Hippo Café

Nice little coffee place with a great atmosphere.
After a long walk it is nice to rest and have a sip of coffee or juice. Also they have a small shop as a part of cafe where you can buy coffee beans and some snacks.
Service was great.
Recommend to try.

After a great bbq pork lunch in SAPA we were ready for a good coffee but until today I hadn’t found any place worth mentioning.
So this afternoon I was very happy to discover a little hidden gem of a coffee emporium in the SAPA Vietnamese shopping town.
The Hippo Cafe is on the second floor of a dingy grey building (like most of the rest of SAPA) but once you climb up the stairs, you enter through a nice glassed-in terrace to a world of wonderful in-house roasted coffees, comfortable seating and a selection of delicacies.
The staff is young, friendly, and speak both English and Czech without a hitch.
It has a pleasant vibe with a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere.
The cappuccino I had was rich and full bodied, with a unique, pleasant flavour unlike any other coffee shop I’ve tried in Prague.
My colleague had an Americano with whipped cream which he said was excellent.
Intrigued, I brought a 1/2 kg of freshly roasted beans to bring home to it try again.
I was also surprised by their pretty impressive wine selection. They have a good range of quality French, Spanish and others.

Good coffee place, interior is upscale. I just like sitting outside with a coffee and a cigarette watching the hustle and bustle of the street below. Coffee is always very good. They roast it there as well

The coffee here is very very delicious, strong and fragrant, 👍different from the coffee in other places. I directly see the coffee roasting process, it was so AMAZING. I ordered 3 bags of arabica and 3 jasmine tea. Staff is very enthusiastic and friendly. . 5sao for quality and staff. Best place for coffee in Sapa. ☕ ☕ ☕ 🫖

This is one place that is hard to beat. We love the staff. The young waiter (Kevin) is the perfect gentleman and we love the smell of the freshly roasted coffee when you approach the end of SAPA. Everyone who works here is amazing and we are always welcomed with a smile and it feels like we come home every visit we make. The smell just beckons you in and we have yet to be disappointed. This is where coffee is roasted and prepared with love and skill. The prices are very very very reasonable and to be honest, probably the lowest for the quality that it offers. It should not come as a surprise that sometimes we just make the one hour trip from the center of Prague, just to enjoy the perfect coffee here. So far we have never been disappointed.

Authentic Asian cafe at Prague with own roasted coffe blend. I love the view to Sapa too, it makes me feen in SE Asia any day.

Mají zde tu nejlepší vajíčkovou kávu co jsem pila. Navíc si sami kávu praží a ochotně vám i zakoupenou kávu domů namelou. Ještě se zeptám hak jemné ji chcete umlít. Velmi ráda se sem vracím :)

Musím velice pochválit Pražírnu v Sape. Když jsme přišli hned jsme viděli asi 20 druhů kávy a samozřejmě jsme byli bezradni, protože jsme nevěděli kterou. Během vteřinky k nám přišel usměvavý, sympatický kluk v modré mikine a nenuceně se nás zeptal, jestli chceme pomoci. Řekla jsem mu, co chceme. Ukázal na tři druhy kávy. Pak jsem dodala 100% aribicu, tak ukázal na dvě a u jedné dodal, že chutná trošku po oříšku a výběr byl jasný. Pak jsme si dali dvě kávy sebou. Jeho kolega tam přiběhnul s výrazem Ježíš marja! Jsou tu zákazníci a já tu nejsem! Pomoc! 😅 To nepisu ve zlem, ale moc se mi to líbilo. Dostali jsme naprosto dokonalou kávu! Chuťově naprosto perfektní! Jestli někam na kafe, tak Pražírnu v Sape doporučuju! Stojí to za to. Až teda na ty schody nahoru.

Pokud chcete ochutnat výtečnou a čerstvou vietnamskou kávu z vlastní pražírny, tak si určitě nenechte ujít tenhle podnik. 👍
