Great little local secret outside of Prague. The chef is so welcoming and went out of this way to make sure we had the best experience of his food. The Duck is absolutely amazing and we got to try all the Czech desserts too. I would definitely go again.

We came here because of the Mark Wiens video, which of course left us with super high expectations. Mr Frič and his staff did not disappoint. I had the special of day (beef ribs with coleslaw and their homemade bread) and my wife had the goose with sauerkraut and dumplings. Both were amazing as was their beer. It’s probably one of the best Czech restaurants I’ve ever eaten at.

Delicious Authentic Czech food, a beautiful 25 minute drive outside in the city center of Prague. Delicious food and Sebastian is very helpful in translating the menu and making sure you have a great meal and time!

Super nice restaurant, familiar with phenomenal food, fair prices and special service by the chef Václav Frič. Located in a small town and a little far from Prague, so frequented basically by locals. Super recommended. Recommended to reserve. No credit or debit card are accepted.

This salmon steak was amazing. It was medium rare. The restaurant has a French provincial look with a homy feel about it. The food has great presentation and tastes even better with a feeling of home. I would definitely recommend it.

Great experience, good food and atmosphere, the chef told us what we were going to eat in a very convincing way. He did not disappoint either, if you’re in the area I’d advise to take a stop at this local restaurant for good Czech food and good fun.

Ok so today was the second time I’ve eaten in a famous restaurant without knowing it was famous until some time later.
(First time was Noma in Copenhagen, but that’s another story).
It’s not so difficult as you think. I was out with the Prague Vespa Club ride when we stopped to eat at a place in about 15 kms outside prague. Almost country, but still within that golden 30-45 minutes commute to the city, depending on time and traffic.
Although the invite did mention the name of the place, I haven’t researched it ahead because, well, I was kind of busy and I didn’t really have a choice anyway… that’s where the group will stop after all, so why bother?
Turned out we ate at Na Pekarne. Famous for some of the best Czech cuisine in the country, which I guess means best in the world.
And yes, dear friends, it WAS. 🤤
I remember thinking, while enjoying my “Hovězí svíčková na smetaně” (Beef tenderloin on cream) “Wow! This is REALLY good svickova!”
Perfect really. Home cooking at its finest, something your Czech grandmother would make… if she’d been a top professional chef.
With a soup (gotta start with a delicious soup if it’s a Czech meal), and a beer (ditto) it was a reasonable 455 kc.
I could write a lot more descriptive superlatives, but I won’t. Just make a reservation and go enjoy it for yourself. You’re in for a treat.

This is probably the best restaurant in all of Czechia. Awesome food like nowhere else, good and jolly staff. It’s a great culinary experience. It’s good to sit inside though, as it helps the atmosphere.

Very good restaurant, super nice chef who cares a lot. Sells tasty beer especially made for him by a befriended brewery. Food was excellent, good portions, fresh ingredients and cheaper than in Prague itself. We recommend going here if you're around!

Excellent food at an unexpected place near Prague. At first it looks more like a little pub, but once inside we really felt like were at a typical Czech restaurant. We pay'd approximately 40 euro's for two top quality courses + drinks (loads of drinks to choose from). The amount of food was excellent as well! Thank you for the great evening.

Wonderful restaurant in the middle of nowhere. We didn't expect such a great place in the countryside next to Prague.
When we got there we thought no one would speak english. But we were welcomed by the chef himself, who guided us to our table, sat down with us, made recommendations and was all in all super friendly. The food and beer were excellent and also the setting was superb. Price was definitely okay for the quality of food and service. Would recommend to everyone who's visiting Prague and has a car. Thanks for having us, we will come back.

Wonderful lunch with friends today at Na Pekarne, about a 30 minute drive from Prague. Delicious Czech food, big portions, and half the price of a similar meal in Prague. Very friendly staff. If you don’t have reservations you may want to go after 1pm, as it is a very popular restaurant
which has regular repeat customers. We purchased chef Václav Fric cookbook of Czech cuisine ; we plan to try a few recipes once we are back in Canada.

Amazing food and atmosphere. This is how Czech food should taste. The chef is very friendly and chatty! I’m going there again before I go back to the U.S.

Excelent food and great service. Chef Václav Frič is expert on czech cuisine. Every time I have hard time deciding what to order, because I want to try everything. The staff is very friendsly and has no problem with any additional requests (e.g. extra plate for kid). My son loves the kids corner.

Awesome chef 👌. Few options of Czech cuisine in it's finest. Definitely should try Kulajda soup. They even make own bread.
