Casa Arturo y Xiomara is a nice casa particulares. During my visit the country is dealing with various shortages (more specifically electricity). In the meantime, I have purchased a more robust charger to prevent being in a predicament where you can't use your technology. Specially, I needed a plug for my computer but now I am ready. A wise investment that I would recommend because who thinks shortages or outages will affect them?????

Part of trekking is being efficient and managing a solid budget. Normally I try and arrange my casa during good proximity to bus/train terminals as well as sights or interviews needed for my research. Unfortunately, Casa Arturo is about 3 kilometers from the center of town. Luckily, I am in pretty decent shape and dealt with getting around via cab and walking.

Raiza was my contact and was great. My bus arrived very early but again, Raiza was very helpful to make sure I could occupy my room. The only issue I ran into was distance to the Viazul and center of town. As an example my taxi ran 1,000 pesos both upon arrival and returning.

The room was very comfortable and the Raiza was as hospitable as possible.

My cost was $25 for the room and $5 for the breakfast.
