Situated in Buey Arriba, this river park was simply beautiful. The hike to the river beaches and water access requires sturdy shoes and an adventurous spirit as most trails are local paths taken by people and horses! But the payoff is more than worth it. I recommend taking pool shoes as the River rocks are slick with mud and algae... footing can be precarious but the water was glorious!

Nach einer Anmeldung kann man den Nationalpark besichtigen und hier auch hier auch Fidel Castros Kommandozentrale von 1959 finden.
Wie überall auf Kuba ist die Natur einfach traumhaft!

Sí quieres estar en el punto más alto de Cuba tendrás que subir al Turquino 1974 m. No es mucha altura pero la caminata es muy dura por el desnivel acumulado. Vale la pena. Bosque humedo , vegetación autóctona y la posibilidad de ver al colibrí más pequeño del menos y al tocororo, pájaro insignia de Cuba.

Es el cerro más alto de la bella Cuba.
Hermoso y lleno, lleno de historia. Dependiendo qué circuitos quieras realizar, puedes contratar un tour, o tratar con particulares para que te lleven. Hay recorridos de pocas horas, 5 a 7, con baja dificultad, y otros de más de 1 día. Santiago es una de las ciudades más calurosa de Cuba, por lo que es recomendable no hacerlo en verano

About Sierra Maestra
Mountain range in Cuba

The Sierra Maestra is a mountain range that runs westward across the south of the old Oriente Province in southeast Cuba, rising abruptly from the coast. The range falls mainly within the Santiago de Cuba and in Granma Provinces. Some view it as a series of connecting ranges, which join with others to the west. At 1,974 m, Pico Turquino is the range's – and the country's – highest point. The area is rich in minerals, especially copper, manganese, chromium, and iron. source
