Grand Memories Holguín & Sanctuary

I left this Resort with a big smile and with sadness too. Leaving this place and the honest hard working people was hard.
I can't wait to go back and meet new people, specially my Canadians friends. Enjoy the service that it offers. I hope the same staff still be there. See you soon

This was our first time at an all inclusive and in Cuba! 🇨🇺 The resort was fabulous! The staff were super friendly and helpful. My parter is Celiac and has a hard time with vacations and eating. The staff made sure she had plenty to eat and lots of variety… one chef even gave her his cell number to reach him when he was off about meals. ❤ The beach was beautiful. The water even better. We came back to Nova Scotia so relaxed!!! Planning our return! 😊

Only have a few negatives, for example, it took a few days and 4 trips to the front desk to get the batteries changed in our door lock, sometimes it was taking around 5 min to get into our room before they swapped out the batteries. In the end, we were leaving our patio doors open so we could get in. After they changed the batteries, we had no issues. Room service was so late one morning that we had to leave on our excursion without eating, over 30 min after it was supposed to be there. 10 hours later, when we got back, the food was in our room. I have no idea what time it came. At breakfast every morning, 80% of the bacon was almost raw, and on occasion, breakfast started a bit late. This would not be an issue if you were not leaving on an excursion that leaves 30 min after the breakfast bar is scheduled to open.
However, staff were very friendly and the resort was clean. The staff running the tours were very friendly and knowledgeable. The beach was continuing groomed, and loungers were always cleaned.
In the end, we enjoyed our week here and have no regrets about going to this resort but would likely try a different one next time.

Our visit in early January was mostly excellent. We were somewhat concerned after reading the negative reviews from the Christmas holidays, but things are much improved. I suspect the resort was also less busy too.

The food is comparable to our other visits to cuba over the last 20 years, and excellent when we ate at the a la cart restaurants. Rooms are cleaned daily with new water towels and toilet paper.

I love the hotel, the service, the rooms, the pools, the excellent entertainment.l and most of all the welcoming environment.
The food is okay given the food prices and scarcity, which is felt in Cuba even more. Nevertheless, all the staff make sure one feels very welcome and well taken care of.

Grand memories resort, Holguin, exceptional customer service at the lobby bar from Mayelin, Liannis, Ernesto, Wilder, and Yicenia ! Wonderful smiles, courteous attention & obliging! Front reception truly accommodating, Osvaldo, Virgin!
This is Cuba!! Grateful for the wonderful sunshine, 🌞 ☀ warmth and delicious espresso, cappuccinos and Spanish coffees. Wonderful strawberry daiquiris. Of course there is a limited selection of cocktails 🍹🍹

Beaches were beyond dreamy!! Staff was friendly but lacking the English language 😆 🤣 😂... food was great at the a la Cart restaurants, buffet a little plain... but plenty of it...

Amazing place, we got the ocean view room and it was amazing, staff were kind and friendly specially Armando, he was at the bar next the main pool, so cool,
That will be my first choice if I'm going back to Cuba again.

this is my first time in cuba and first in Holguin and won't be the last the resort is so underrated I give it 20 out 10 it's unbelievable compared to what I saw on the internet and read reviews the rooms super clean and pool the service so friendly and passionate always smile on the face and you will never get hungry there is always food don't worry 😀 thank you cuba thank grand memories Holguin for excellent experience see you soon 😊

We have just returned to our Toronto home from a wonderful 7-day vacation at Grand Memories Sanctuary Holguin resort.

My wife and I had a great time and enjoyed every moment at this new hotel. If you have already experienced traditional Cuban hospitality, bring it up a notch and that is what this place offers 24/7. It is very well maintained and super clean. The room we stayed in was very nice and spacious. Again, the resort is new and there is no mistake when it comes to comfort and quality.

The beach is just steps away and has a lot of natural shade which is what we prefer. The beach bar is elevated and offers a constant breeze and clear view to the beach and open sea. There are two such bars on both sides of the beach. Although we are beach goers, I should mention that the pools are nice and very clean, and that two of them include pool-bars.

The Cuban bands that played in the evening and sometimes during lunch time were fantastic. The same goes to the pop-rock band that entertained the guests and got everyone dancing a couple of evenings during our stay.

Finally, the staff was amazing and I mean every single one we interacted with. I am sorry I cannot list all the names but here are few:
Carlos - the young barman at Sanctuary beach bar who makes great Mojitos and other drinks
Maire - one of the Supervisors, a charming young Lady who was always ready to answer our questions
Roberto - a cool waiter at the snack bar
Rosalia - our maid, a beautiful young lady with a great smile who kept our room in perfect order

I stayed there in May 2023. I initially had an issue with the amount that had been charged to me but Lourdes from the hotel's customer service and Roxanna were very helpful in resolving it although the front desk staff was clueless.

To make up for the bad experience, they have offered me a free 1 hour massage, booked a nice supper at the Italian restaurant for my daughter and I, brought us a sparkling wine bottle to the room and gave us room service for breakfast every day. The hotel's general manager also took the time to meet me and apologize for the way it was handled.

They do truly care about their customers, plus the rooms are very clean, staff is super friendly and helpful, beach is not crowded, food was tasty especially Sandra's and her beautiful voice 😍

My daughter and I will definitely be returning to this amazing hotel !

I have visited Cuba many times, this hotel is the best for Cuban standards. They have really made the effort to mark the difference.

1.40 hours from the airport but Worth it!

Food: it has a buffet, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Some dishes are not what you would imagine but you always have someone making grilled chicken , pork and fish for lunch and dinner ( you cannot go wrong with that) for Breakfast you always have someone making fresh eggs and pancakes. And you can complement the fruits and ham and cheese from the buffet.

Also you can make reservations for thematic restaurants. Our favorite Japanese. Very good.

Caribbean restaurant we picked the pork and Cuban soup. It was very good.

We did not like the experience at the Bocanegra. Restaurant. (Did not like the food)

Alcohol. They have every rum. From Blanco to añejo, also at some bars they have good quality whiskeys and off course any cocktails and local beers.

Service was amazing. Thank you LiLi !! And all the members . They have life music , events every night, saxophone 🎷 night. . Everyone is friendly and courteous. We could see the manager here and there talking to people .

Rooms. Are clean and very nice. Air conditioning working all the time. The resort has 4 months pretty new and it's very very good.

⛱ Beach. Is espectacular!! Pools are clean and they have entertainment for those who like to play.

Tennis court. And there is a plaza close buy with multiple stores. The hotel cars will take. 5 minutes, maybe less.

Internet : you will get internet at all times .

We traveled with Sunwing. Everything went well. They offer some activities out of the resort in case you want to get out.

Very clean rooms and good service.. Pools are big and clean.. Beautiful beach... Lots of fun.

I was here for 4 days. Enjoyed it very much. Resort was very clean, staff was extremely friendly. Excellent customer service. Food was better than before. Location was too far from the airport. I intend to go back again in the future.

Superb vacation spot. Very nice environment and super friendly staff. This resorts restaurants offers a wide variety of delicious food.

The place is really really clean. The beach is very well maintained.

As a new resort in Cuba, GMH is still ramping up to being a top notch hotel, but during our ten-day stay, the staff more than made up for any logistic hiccups by treating us like family, and genuinely focusing on helping us create great memories.

Jan and William gave us the most exhilarating catamaran ride ever. The windiest day created huge waves, but I insisted on going fast. Felt like we were inches from tipping, but the captain of the boat was cool as a cucumber. I kissed the beach when we landed.

Zulema and partner gave us a fantastic massage at the spa.

The servers at the buffet waited patiently for me to realize I had accidentally left my wallet in a booth, and beckoned me over as soon as I stepped back inside.

Eric the young manager kept everything going well, and was happy to hear out anything we felt like talking to him about.

Most memorable, Danny the MC, entertainment leader, and general party guy, bonded with us, and has become a friend for life. He treats audience entertainment like the art form it is, and always manages to get people out of their chairs and dancing and laughing.

May 7th to 14th did an all-inclusive with Sunwing. The hotel is really new and clean its really big as well. The food was great. I've been to Cuba 5 times, this was definitely my favorite so far.

It's was a beautiful place to stay in for the week, the service was great and most of all the staff were very helpful, nothing to complain about.
The drive from the airport was a little long, but it was worth the drive to the resort to see the Cuban country side

Beautiful, pretty well brand new. Rooms are beautiful , beach is awesome , Pools everywhere. Food was really good , plenty , and plenty of options for everybody. A la cartes were really good . Staff were fantastic. Bus ride a little long..an hour and a half to 2 hours. Scenic though..Would definitely recommend and return myself....Great job to all ...

We Traveled from December, 21st - 28th, 2022 and We were very pleased with their services, rooms are very beautiful and clean, room service was awesome nothing missing. Food was great nothing missing at all for us. To all Staff you guys are FANTASTIC and VERY Helpful. Definitely highly recommend and definitely returning. :) :)
