Finca La Ceiba Ecofarm (Permacultura, Arte y Paisaje)

Fantastic and beautiful spot, with a real arty and ecofriendly project, not far from Havana, in Cuba. Lovely place to wander, to buy fruit and vegetables, to enjoy nature, to reside as an artist... you can even help Ruben, (the owner of this wonder), by staying around as a workawayer (wooffer) and giving him a hand on daily tasks at the Ceiba farm ecoproject. I deeply recommend!

I've been to La Ceiba twice, with five months between my visits, and I can't wait to return. I haven't met Ruben on my visits, but Tellez and his wife Mora. They are both very sweet and make you feel at a Cuban country home.
I witnessed all the improvements the farm/project had in those five months. The second time I was able to stay at the bohío, bathe in the river that marks the edge of the property, eat fruits and vegetables from the farm, and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the countryside.
I regularly talk to Ruben about La Ceiba, he talks passionately about all the new additions he has made during the project’s life, new ideas he still working on, and his vision to integrate art residencies and more art in general into the project, I’m looking forward to visiting again in my next trip to Cuba.
(Just for Cubans who don’t live in Cuba: This has become my hidden place when family interactions get too heavy :’)

He estado dos veces en La Ceiba, con cinco meses entre esas visitas, y estoy loca por volver. No he conocido personalmente a Rubén en esas ocasiones, pero conocí a Tellez y a su esposa Mora que también se ocupan de la finca. Los dos son muy dulces y atentos, y te hacen sentir esa fama de acogedor del campesino cubano.
Pude ver todas las mejoras de la finca y el proyecto en general en esos cinco meses. La segunda vez que visité, dormí en el bohío, me bañé en el río que marca el límite de la propiedad, comí frutas y vegetales de la finca, y disfruté de la tranquilidad y la belleza del campo.
Hablo regularmente con Rubén sobre La Ceiba, él habla con mucha pasión de todo el proyecto, de las nuevas ideas en las que está trabajando, de cómo quiere incluir más arte, residencia para artistas, etc, etc :)
(Solo para los cubanos que no viven en Cuba: Buenísimo para escaparse un par de días de la familia ;-)

Beautiful place with a solid project that combines the arts of landscaping and permaculture with other art manifestations from a sustainable, eco-friendly approach.
