Port Vell

One of our all time favorite breakfast spots in the entire country of Costa. Everything was so fresh & handcrafted. The owners Marie & Jona are wonderful and gave us great tips to explore the area. We will be back whenever we come back to PV one day :)

My husband and I had breakfast from Port Vell and it was wonderful. I had the cappuccino with homemade almond milk and the açai bowl. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted great, with good portions too! My husband had a strawberry banana smoothie and the port vell omelette. He said the omelette was the best he’s ever had! Owners were lovely as well! Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I stumbled across this gem for lunch. The staff was so friendly and the food was fantastic. Everything was incredibly fresh and presented beautifully. Can't recommend this enough.

Super chill vibe, a lot of natural light, they had pop music playing and the staff was friendly. They had some necklaces, bracelets and earrings for sale, all made locally.

Very clean bathroom and really eco-friendly, they had towels instead of paper towels. Great hygiene at the tables as well.

Not a very long wait time, amazing people, super friendly and nice. The waitress was really on the “Pura Vida” vibe.

Every time I am in PV this is a must. Super staff, amazing food, and a great place to relax. If its your first time I recommend the Gallo Pinto but after visiting a few times I finally tried a breakfast bagel sandwich and it was outrageously good! You cannot go wrong with a meal here.

Great food and excellent service. The place is located next to the water which gives it an excellent vibe. The owners understaffed really care about the establishment and the quality of service that they are getting you. would recommend.

Food was top notch 👍👍 fresh and flavourful gallo pinto, thick cut bacon was mouth watering, fried cheese was a special treat. Really nice avocado and watermelon, plus a homemade tortilla shell. Super cute cafe atmosphere, fantastic music that was like we were choosing from our own carefully selected playlists. Johnathan was a pleasure to chat with; thank you for a fabulous meal - we had a very enjoyable time.

Amazing breakfast at cheaper prices than the other places in Puerto Viejo. Also healthier than normally in Costa Rica (not so much added sugar). Loved it 😊

The place is very nice, the food fantastic and the people working here are very lovable. I enjoy coming here. The internet is good as well, so if you need to get something done online, you can do it here.
There's no AC and you can't pay with the card but the owner was interested in accepting Bitcoin soon.

Breakfast was so good, we went back again the next day! Had a fantastic vegee omelet with delicious strong coffee and excellent homemade marmalade on our toast. The Canadian owners from Montréal, Marie Josée et Jonathan, were very friendly, and we really enjoyed talking with them.

My family and I visited Puerto Viejo and happened upon Port Vell. It was such a pleasant experience. MJ and Jonathan were so gracious and the food was absolutely delicious!! The breakfast was generous and delicious and the coffee rocked! I would definitely check it out!!

The BEST breakfast I’ve had ever. Got the Açai bowel and pancakes 😄 tasted incredible and great vibes. Don’t miss this place when you’re in puerto viejo. The owners were Lovely too!

This place is absolutely PHENOMENAL! Amazing food, friendly staff that speaks Spanish and English, reasonable prices. This place has it all. Will definitely be coming back ❤
