Hotel El Deseo Serendipity

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon and were extremely impressed!
The hotel and its facilities were brand new, and extremely clean (very important for us!).
There were so many nice things about the way the hotel was set up: there was a bar right at the entrance, where we could talk to the staff and other guests, and there was a hammock area upstairs where I spent a peaceful 2 hours during a rainstorm, reading a book and listening to the rain as it hit the roof, which was a very peaceful Caribbean experience.
The wood art in and around the hotel was produced by a local artist - we could see him working on a new project directly on the beach in front of the hotel.
Last, but certainly not least: the staff were absolutely lovely. Right from the beginning, they picked us up at Tortuguero dock and loaded our luggage onto a cart to make it easy to bring to the hotel. After we got settled in, we had a get-to-know-you meeting with the manager where we planned out what we wanted to do during our stay, and then they went ahead an organized all the activities for us.
In general, they were very concerned about anything they could do to help make our stay as wonderful as possible. You get the feeling that they like to work there and shared our excitement about the beauty of the nature around, the ocean and have a good sense of what the guests needs are. For example, they helped me organize some honeymoon surprises for my wife, which I never would have been able to pull off on my own.
Although we only stayed 2 nights we were very sad to leave.

Overall I had a great stay with Serendipity.

The highlight was the staff working there. They are so friendly and always happy to help.

The rooms are spacious, with great water pressure in the shower. The mattress is very firm which is not to my taste but will be others.

The hotel also books tours for you and they were amazing! We did the national park by motor boat, a night walk, and turtle spotting walk. They also booked our transfer by boat + taxi to cahuita.

Accepts colones, dollars and card.

WiFi connection was good, but from inside the room the signal was low, sometimes lost. Another repeater would be helpful.

The hotel is located on the beach front and it's lovely place to be. The beach is huge, wild, and not busy at all. You can enjoy Pina Coladas out front in the hotels chairs under the shade provided by trees.

Value for money? I'm not sure. Very, very expensive compared to anything near by, but anything near by is cheap cabinas, which are old and in poor condition.

Stayed at this location for five nights. The staff is very responsive and helpful - tour guides were professional and accommodating. Beachfront room was beautiful and clean. Daily check in by staff for any needs you might have (laundry, meals) Food was excellent along with the drinks. Already planning another stay.

Great place to sit up high, catching the breeze and having a drink with glimpses of the Caribbean through the trees. Very attentive staff.
Very special rooms with interesting decorative features. Only two months old.

L'hotel si trova in posizione perfetta sulla spiaggia e a pochi passi dal paese. Il personale è gentile e premuroso, vengono a prenderti al porto e ti riaccompagnano al ritorno. È possibile rivolgersi a loro per qualunque esigenza, anche per informazioni sui tour.
L'esperienza del tour in barca a 2 è stata molto bella, la guida Daniel era molto preparata eci spiegato tantissime cose molto interessanti.
Le camere sono molto belle e arredate eleganti.

Maravilloso hotel a pie de playa con un servicio muy detallista y pendiente . Las habitaciones con todas las comodidades . La relación calidad precio demasiado caro el precio de las habitaciones.
Servicio de comidas escaso, sólo quesadillas y crepes ( qué no están muy buenas )
Desayuno muy completo a gusto del cliente.

Fuimos solo al bar sobre la playa y nos atendieron muy bien . Los licuados y sandwiches muy buenos.

Service Ist nett und bittet einen Gepäckservice vom Bootsanleger aus. Zimmer sind nach innen gerichtet und wirken durch den Betonboden sehr kalt. Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Essen ist ganz ordentlich. Frühstück mit Obstteller hätte ich mir mehr Obstsorten gewünscht.

Nos quedamos en este hotel en tortuguero,
Primero la ubicación, no es mala ya que tortuguero no es lejos y es caminable. Pero si llevas maletas o mucho equipaje te tocara caminar con el (de todas maneras en el mismo hotel te ayudan con el equipaje si necesitas)
Las piezas son grandes y cómodas y el baño limpio y amplio. El único pero es que las piezas dan al pasillo y son ventanales con cortinas, entonces si no las cierras se ve desde el pasillo toda tu pieza (es lo único que mejoraria por tema de privacidad)
Tienen desayuno a la carta, snacks y bebestibles buenos.
La zona de arriba tiene hamacas y sillones cómodos para descansar y esta al lado de la playa (que no es apta para baño) pero es maravillosa!

Le barman Leo est très serviable et se plie en 4 pour satisfaire ses clients.
L'emplacement sur la plage est parfait.

Cependant, les prestations de l'hôtel ne correspondent absolument pas aux tarifs pratiqués.

Le ménage dans les chambres est assez sommaire, les fenêtres ne s'ouvrent pas. Par ailleurs, contrairement à ce qui est annoncé, il n'y a pas de réception 24/7.

Nous avons eu un souci de nuisances sonores lors de notre séjour. La gestion de la situation par la direction a été honteuse. Le propriétaire nous a prises de haut blâmant la technologie et que sais-je encore pour se dédouaner sans jamais nous présenter la moindre forme d'excuses nous obligeant à réclamer une compensation.

Vous aurez un bien meilleur rapport qualité / prix ailleurs à Tortuguero.
