Excellent overnight stay! The accommodations are great and reasonably priced. Typical Costa Rican breakfast (very delicious!) is served cafeteria style in the main dining hall.

We took two tours with Field Guide, Jeisson Figueroa Sandi. He was so knowledgeable about the property and the history of Wilson Botanical Garden and his birding skills were top notch! His stories were also quite entertaining. Highly recommend securing a spot with him while you are there.

The hiking trails into the forest were deserted and well worth the time.

We had a fabulous tour here with a third generation guide, Jason. His father and grandfather both worked here, too. He was so knowledgeable about the plants, animals, insects, and history of the garden. There are so many unique and interesting plants here. The research about reforestation is so important and the revival of the ecosystem is encouraging. Highly recommended!

$3 for locals $8 for foreigners to enjoy the day. Peace corps volunteers pay $3. Well worth it! After only a few minutes of entering the grounds we saw a chestnut toucan and a number of other animals (ñeques). It truly has an immense amount of wildlife and it's easy to get around. The tower offers a great way to observe birds from the canopy of the surrounding forest and the botanical garden is teeming with hummingbirds and beautiful flowers. Highly recommended it.

We did a field trip here for a girls empowerment camp and it was a blast! We had a short charla and then did a guided tour of the grounds. It is a beautiful garden and information for people of all ages. Highly recommend this spot!

This is an excellent site to see a hugh variety of tropical plants and animals. Its mission is a learning and research center for a number of universities with many decades of data. You can stay on campus and have meals with the resident students. It is a great experience.

The site is beautiful with amazing little trails. You feel like you are deep in the wilderness with incredible sights. The staff were wonderful and helped in every way possible.

This is a less traveled biological station but wow! the rooms are very up to date with decent amenities. Wifi signal was strong and I was able to catch up with my emails. The best part was that we went on a frog and owl walk and saw a lot of frogs. Motmot, woodpeckers , warblers, parrots flying around the big and well maintained garden. Great place for the ecotourist. The only problem was that we missed the entrance to this place using Waze.

Great place to visit and learn about flora and fauna. Well kept trails, great palm collection, amazing bird watching experience. A must see!
