Unreal spot 😍! Yahaira and her family are super friendly and cook very well. We had plenty of options to choose from and they kindly adapted some dishes to our dietary restrictions. All fresh and delicious. Next to the ocean, surrounded by the scarlet macaws, it has nice village vibes (see media) and it feels like going for lunch at a far away relative's - adorable!
Prices are good and you can pay by card.

What a great little spot super friendly down to earth people , we’d been on a croc tour ( well worth it 35$ per head ) and saw this place on google maps , it’s not flash it’s just a little family restaurant on the beach at Tarcoles making genuine homemade Costa Rican food it cost 27 usd for chicken and rice x2 and x2 beers , well reasonable for good fresh food worth a visit , Ben

An adorable spot! Go here for a delicious homemade casado. We got the beef with mushrooms and the fish. The beef was so tender it fell apart with the touch of a fork. The fish was fried to perfection. The house hot sauce was TRUE (cleared our sinuses right up). The woman who runs this place is wonderful as is her grandchild, Luciana, who provided us with the entertainment for the night. She was wildly curious and adorable!

10,000 colones for two home cooked meals was pretty excellent!

One of the best meals we had on our visit to Costa Rica. People in our group had fish/shrimp, chicken and vegan plates and everyone was happy. Very kind and hospitable.

After being granted leave, we ended up in Tarcoles. After a beautiful walk down the beach, we turned inland and found Las Lapas. This introduced us to the comida típica de Costa Rica, and turns out being VEGAN is pretty gosh darned easy here!

But I ate the shrimp. It happened. Look at the photos. This was caught that morning, pan fried in oil to perfection. You can have my vegan card back, this is where I draw the line.

I discussed hot sauces with the chef after being served. The house sauce, as it turns out, is a fermented red pepper blend she created herself. Fermented sauce is pretty common here, and she absolutely loved discussing peppers and heat. Turns out her brother grows ghost peppers and ships them to her. So she gave me one.

We went back for dinner, we were late just before her closing time on a Sunday. She welcomed us in with open arms and hooked up some sope negra.

Just? Come on. I’m tearing up.
This reminds me of a fall sunset on the western coast of Risa.

Delicious food. Home cooking. View of the beach while you eat. Friendly service. Not crowded (we were the only customers).

Stopped here for lunch on our way back to San Jose from Jaco. Some of the best and most affordable food we had on our entire trip! Portions were huge! Incredibly friendly people and excellent service. Great location, just off the coast. One of our most memorable dining experiences in Costa Rica, would highly recommend!

While this Soda may lack location, it doesn't lack good food for good prices.

Three of us had lunch here today.three casados, two fish and one vegetarian. The fish was fresh sea bass. The rice, beans, salad and plantains were fresh and tasty too. We had the lemon mint drink and a mixed fresh fruit smoothie and they we're good too.

Three nice meals with drinks and it came to about 13,000 colones. You just can't beat that.

Highly recommend this soda! It was a great lunch stop for us from Jaco back to San Jose. We loved the owners...they were very humble and great to practice Spanish with. The food was INCREDIBLE and authentic.

Cozy family style soda, little English spoken so there was a bit of sherading around, but we managed to get our orders in. Fish and shrimp were very fresh, enjoyed the meal very much. Only issue is that it's pretty expensive - 32$ for 2 rice plates and a coke

Anyone in the Jaco and Tarcoles area needs to eat here for breakfast or lunch. I cannot recommend this place enough. The ladies were extremely hospitable and made a giant traditional breakfast and packed me a traditional lunch for my time at Playa Blanca (where there is no access to food). Its absolutely stunning, with the ocean in view, Scarlet Macaws are flying over head dropping fruit onto the restaurant roof. Its possible to see monkeys, sloths, and anteaters from your seat if they are in the area. The food is so inexpensive for such fantastic value.

It's a little hard to find but follow the location on the map shown on google, and drive into the pueblo. Then head towards the beach on the street that will allow you to do so, it will then be on your right. You can also ask a local for help too.

My friend and I stopped in on our way back to San José and decided to stop in here for breakfast. The gallo pinto (traditional Costa Rican breakfast dish) was excellent, and the service was equally impressive. We were treated to one heck of a beachfront view and even got to see some of the lapas (Macaws, the bird for which the soda is named) flying around from tree to tree! Great prices, varied selection, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere all combined for a wonderful experience. I will DEFINITELY be back!

Quite possibly the best food in all of Costa Rica. The food is fresh and incredibly good. Even if you are staying in Jacó, it is well worth cruising on over for one of their delicious dishes!

True costa Rican experience. Small family owned, beach side. They spoke little english but were able to accommodate. I would recommend to anyone near the area.
