The Santa Cruz Fiesta was a riot of activities and food. I hadn't experienced the bull running before. Taunting the bulls made me somewhat uncomfortable, but the management of the event by the riders and vets effectively removed bulls speedily when they were tired. The bull riders required a high degree of nerve, skill, and bravery as they, unlike the bulls, were in constant peril.
The food was a different matter. The choice was overwhelming.

Finally got to enjoy a crazy night at a rodeo in Santa Cruz. Reminded me of my youth while in Tijuana, Mexico back in-the 80’s. This is where local thrill seekers run around toying with 2000 lbs explosively angry bulls. Not to mention, the locals casually text, chat & drink beer while they stand at ground zero and ‘in the ring’ waiting for the next bull to be let lose. Their Bravado and/or stupidity increased with the amount they drank. The crazy thing is, the staff walk around selling buckets of beer on the floor inside the ring. Thank God no one died when I was their. Lots of local food to enjoy and plenty of plank board seating.

the most emblematic place from january 14 to 18 , people from Santa Cruz build every year a wooden arena where bullfights or typical rodeos are held , those are scheduled from afternoon starting at 2pm every day to 5pm and night rodeos or bullriding starting at 8pm . Also, the bullfights are in honored to the Patronage Saint The Santo Cristo de Esquipulas or the Black Christ's Parties , there , you can enjoy of cultural performances by local artists, typical dances, delite with the exquisite typical food , street bars, music, horse and bull parades called TOPES and more. A tradition that has more than 200 years old .

Durante las Fiestas Típicas Nacionales, ten cuidado, en un pestañeo tienes el toro a la par. Muchisima gente, buen clima, música, actividades, juegos artificiales. Y Pilsen la birra de los compas... 100%
