Casa Donna Rosa Bed & Breakfast

We did not have the opportunity to stay, we visited friends of ours who we’re staying there, but the owners let do a small tour and we were able to see the rooms, every room is different from the other and they all are amazingly cozy, it really feels like you’re “home away from home”. The terrace is really beautiful, with a gorgeous view on the surroundings… great spot to read a book, have a lazy afternoon and enjoy the sunset… if I ever go back to Nuevo Arenal, I know where I’ll be staying!

Carlos and Werner have done an amazing job thinking of everything to make our stay wonderful.

Carlos and Werner are wonderful hosts. They have a wonderful Airbnb with fabulous rooms that are spacious, well-designed, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Their service is top notch and they provide delicious breakfasts that are served every morning. They have a bird feeding platform where you are able to see the beautiful species of the are. I highly recommend staying with them when you come to visit the Arenal/La Fortuna area!

Don’t look any further. Carlos is a wonderful host, rooms SUPER COMFY are 5 stars and tastefully decorated. Deck chairs comfy. You enjoy relax and enjoy the home and deck of this wonderful property. Walkable to local restaurants and music on the weekends at Moya’s. Views spectacular. We were able to see Arenal from the deck. Breakfast is a bonus! Carlos alerted me to Toucans nearby. My first sighting! Enjoy…and thanks Carlos…we will be back. The bath tub is fantastic!

Carlos & Warner were born to host travelers. They are exceptional, flexible, knowledgeable. Carlos is a native of Lake Arenal - AND - one hell of a Chef! AND THE B&B WAS RE-IMAGINED & EXPANDED FROM CARLOS' CHILDHOOD HOME. How cool is that?

My spouse and I just finished our second stay with Carlos & Werner. We had such an amazing time last year that we came back and brought family with us. The location is an easy 45-60 minute drive to Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna. To say that we had an incredible stay is an understatement. From the hospitality and informative guidance to the amazing breakfasts that Carlos creates made our stay impeccable. We will be back!

Great experience. Carlos und Werner were wonderful hosts very accommodating. They arranged for a sunset cruise for us which was very relaxing with a delicious charcuterie Carlos put together. Breakfast was delicious.

Deligthful experience - elegant, spotless, comfortable! Werner and Carlos were gracious and accommodating hosts. Werner met us at the door, carried our bags in, introduced us to Carlos who was waiting to greet us. After we got settled, they provided a recommendation for lunch which was excellent. They arranged for our boat tour on Lake Arenal and provided an lovely charcutier platter and a bottle of Proseco for us to take on the boat cruise with us. They also made our reservations for us at the Mistco Hanging Bridges for the following day. In the morning, Carlos prepared a delicious breakfast that they served on the ouside patio. We enjoyed chatting with them about how they got to Costa Rica from LA, the renovation history of their house and learned great historical information about the development of Lake Arenal and the surrounding towns. If you are looking for a unique and memorable Costa Rica vacation experince, you definitely need to check in at Casa Donna Rosa and let Carlos and Werner take care of you! The hosts were extremely helpful and hospitable throughout our stay with them. They suggested things to do that we didn't know about and helped with the ones we already planned on doing with tips and directions. The breakfasts was amazing and a great way to start the day of exploration. The room was perfectly clean and the bathroom was luxurious.

If you're planning on visiting this area of Costa Rica I doubt you can find better accommodations at this price.

Best place I have stayed at in Costa Rica. The host is amazing, the place is gorgeous, spotless, comfortable, welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. Can't say enough good things.

Just wow. Best experience ever. Place is very clean, fully equipped with kitchen and all amenities. The hosts are amazing, they take care of every guest like you are the most important person. Every day they prepared homemade breakfast which was very fancy. The view is nice, evenings we enjoyed spending time on the terrace. Highly recommend

Best value for the price we had in Latin America.
The owners are welcoming and friendly. We had a good chat and they were helpful in advising us in planning our next days and in where to eat in Nueva Arena. They speak English, Spanish and German.
The room is spacious and nicely furnished and decorated. The bathroom is perfect, there is even a bathtub. There was attention to details that made a difference, ex. Toothbrushes in case you forgot yours, full mirror, hair conditioner, hair dryer, many small things.
The bed is big and confortable. There is a small balcony directly from the room and there is a shared big patio to relax.
We would have booked at least one more night, but they were full! Highly recommend.

Carlos and Werner are such wonderful people. You feel very well taken care of.
The house has a very nice vibe. You almost instantly feel at home.
Don't miss the breakfast. Carlos cooks something new, interesting and absolutley delishous every morning.

Not that it should reflect on Carlos and Werner in any way but, Nuevo Arenal is very small and getting to any activities is a bit of a challenge (it will cost you). This is a place to stay to get away from other tourists and relax. For that, it is perfect!

Needed a find accommodation close to Nuevo Arenal and after a quick search and a quickly answered What’sApp inquiry I was on my way to this lovely couple’s cozy B&B. Wifi, cute nooks to hang out and quiet with lush surroundings and walking distance to town. The hosts are warm and pay attention to the details. There is a selection of well priced wine and beer, a splash pool, swings and access to a lot in the area.

Better than a five star hotel!!! This place is simply amazing.
Exquisite attention to detail makes this a perfect piece of paradise. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious with every amenity you can posibly think of, but the real treat is the unique breakfast for every day of your stay, freshly made by Carlos with ingredients such as bananas from the back yard and cheese from the local farm. Advice, guidance or just a good conversation on the balcony overlooking a tropical sunset over the lake are always at hand. Werner and Carlos are the perfect hosts going out of their way to provide hints, tips and guidance suitable for any taste. We can't wait to stay here again, and we highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Arenal region.

My daughter and I had a lovely stay with Werner and Carlos in the Banana Suite. The patio and views are wonderful. The breakfast was so yummy. And the hosts were so helpful with directions and recommendations for things to do and see. Will be going back for sure!

Spent an incredible two weeks staying in Casa Donna Rosa with the greatest hosts I have ever met! Werner and Carlos make you feel so much a part of their family and taking care of our needs. Breakfasts were phenomenal! Their lodgings were very superior to many of the hotels I have stayed at in the US. I recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting Lake Arenal but Costa Rica as a whole. These guys are a wealth of information but look for answers if they cannot readily give it to you. My life in Costa Rica is enriched by having stayed here. Thank you, Carlos and Werner. Pura Vida!!!

Carlos provided us with the best breakfast we have had in Costa Rica. Our room the banana suite, was very spacious and the bathroom was also very spacious with a relaxing rainfall shower. Carlos was also a great help in booking excursions for us that he knew we would like based on our interests. We very much enjoyed our stay and when we venture back to Costa Rica we will definitely be looking to book another stay!
