Hotel Aurora Arenal

One of the best views of Lake Arenal in the area.
Good food, drinks and rooms at affordable prices.
Also a pool with a view and sun deck.
It is not the 4 Seasons but it is comfortable and appealing for all.
Eddy the newest owner has done a great job rejuvenating the Aurora and along with Kevin, his right hand assistant that both speak Spanish and English are welcoming people back to what was one of the more popular places in town and is again.

Wonderful views of the city of Nuevo Arenal, the wonderful lake, and the mountains on the other side of the lake, from their patio dining.
Excellent food, too. Try their terrific onion rings and pork ribs, among an extensive menu.

On December 18, 2021 I had the opportunity to spend the night at the Aurora Inn.

This small hotel I find to be quite cozy, I did notice that the lack of use during the first year of pandemic, where all businesses were closed and hotels could not receive any guests, did show its tole as far as general maintenance was concerned, but that did not affect the service or quality of the place. Since hotels were allowed a 50% capacity I see that much of the needed maintenance has been worked on and is looking much better. It is also pet friendly.

The room was very clean, fresh smelling linen (almost new), clean bathroom and a very comfortable bed with new smelling pillows.

Despite the group of motor bikers that spent the night at the hotel we did not hear any noise from them and we were able to get a good nights rest.

The menu is rather small which I find makes it easier to select you meal, and boy was that good. I must say that eating there is well worth your time and money, prices are at well within reasonable.

One nice thing is that we were attended by the owner himself so we were able to share experiences and ideas on subjects that we both share, specially meat preparation, he makes a finger liking good smoked pork rib I wish I could make.

Its swimming pool was under repair at the time so I was not able to use it but should be finished by now.

Its location provides it with a spectacular view of the Arenal lake where you can and is across the street of the soccer field in front of the catholic church in the center of town. Very well located.

Will I return? You can count on it, I will be back on January 29th 2022, if health restrictions permits it.

The first time my wife and I stayed here it was out of convenience and the price was right, I had been driving all day and I wanted to find an affordable place to rest. That right we dined on the restaurant and it was so good we stayed an extra night.

Now that I'm back visiting Costa Rica, I made the 2-hour drive their just try have the honey garlic chicken wings. The drive was well worth it plus the wings were as great as we remembered them being.

I highly recommend staying here and if you do get the room on the second floor that's closest to the lake. You'll have a great view for a great price. Then make your self to the restaurant and order the honey garlic chicken wings with either a pineapple or lemonade drink with yerbabuena "good herb".

Now that I'm back I have to try the ribs so in a few days I'll make my way back here and give them a shot. I found the picture I took in our first visit and I'm including it.

Aurora Inn is a nice place for lunch and, if you desire, spend the day at their newly renovated pool (3000 colones). A group of friends had a nice lunch with good service. The Shrimp Salad is excellent!

I cannot comment on the rooms as we did not stay overnight.

Beautiful lake views, awesome costumer service. We stayed in la Aurora for two nights, the place is quiet, the food was amazing with reasonable prices and outstanding quality. Here you can taste organic coffee and food from local producers. The price included the breakfast which was really good (costa rican typical food, not the continental classic one). Luckily we got the room that had the best view, it was decorated nicely, we had hot water, internet and a smart tv. It's an excellent value for the price. Close to the hotel there were restaurants, a gas station, small markets and a public park with free Access to the lake in case you want to kayak or SUP.

Hotel avec piscine situé dans un joli parc avec une vue magnifiquesur le lac. Chambre très propre avec une bonne literie. Nous avons eu la visite de colibris pendant notre petit déjeuner.

La carretera que lleva a Nuevo Arenal desde Katira es muy complicada. Por suerte el servicio fue excelente y el trato inigualable. Tienen una discoteca al lado del hotel que es propiedad suya. Los precios son razonables tanto en la discoteca como en el hotel. Además incluye desayuno muy completo.
Recomendamos el daykiri de maracuyá.
Las vistas son excelentes.

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig und absolut sauber. Als wir ankamen wurden wir mit einem Welcomedrink überrascht. Der Besitzer ist sehr nett und wir haben tolle Gespräche geführt. Das Essen im Restaurant sowie das Frühstück waren ebenfalls exzellent. Kann ich zu 100% weiterempfehlen

Après un changement de propriétaire, ce lieu mérite toute votre attention. Il propose une vue magnifique sur le lac, des plats de qualité un petit déj inclus dans la formule très copieux, le tout avec un accueil très professionnel et bienveillant. C'est un excellent rapport qualité-prix et c'est vraiment un hôtel que nous retiendrons car c'est la meilleure expérience hôtelière que nous avons eu au Costa Rica.

Un hotel con vistas hermosas, muy cómodo y limpio. Con deliciosa comida (recomiendo el ceviche). Vale la pena visitar y próximamente tendrán piscina. El servicio excelente!!

Excelente lugar para hospedarse. Una vista del lago inigualable. Aceptan mascotas, la atención muy buena. Desayuno riquísimo. Se ve que le ponen ganas a la buena atencion
