Very friendly staff, I do not speak Spanish and they were very patient. The breakfast was delicious, great setting nestled in a small village. Thanks for a delicious breakfast!

We went for lunch, on our way back from Curu park. The owners were very accommodating of our large family, and they were very attentive with our children. We got casados. Pork, chicken and fish, as well as cheese/egg for our vegetarian daughter. The food was so delicious. Everything was seasoned well. The owner brought some extra pickled veggies to enjoy with our meal. The portions were generous, and very reasonable priced. Highly recommend Soda Esmeralda.

The best food and experience we had in Costa Rica. This place is a real treat, do not drive past this soda (restaurant). We had the chicken and fish plates and they were absolutely incredible.

We had lunch today. It was authentic CR food. Delicious! They speak no English but don't let that deter you. You choose pork chicken ribs steak and each one comes with rice beans egg cauliflower (Delicious) and salad. The jar of homemade sauce is not hot but incredibly tasty. Sofa Esmeralda stood out as a favorite stop during our 12 days in Costa Rica. We only had an hour before our night bioluminescent algae tour and the owner greeted us with a huge smile and promised quick service. He was very very kind and personable. Our meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. A little spot that could be overlooked but worth the effort!

Great food, amazing service, beautiful cooks. Local restaurant rant with great prices and even better smiles. You should try to stop here.

We stopped here for lunch after landing in the ferry and everything was delicious. Great food, and great lemonade and juices! Very friendly staff and clean bathrooms right by the road.

Si se queda en Valle Azul, es aquí donde tiene que comer. El servicio excelente, la comida también (chuleta y pollo👌🏻), y de postrecito unos trocitos de melón. Recomendado 10/10

On a beaucoup aimé, en arrivant il n'y avait personne mais le patron nous a gentiment accueilli et s'est mis aux fourneaux pour 3 personnes seulement. Du coup peu de choix, normal, cuisine très simple mais on a très bien mangé et pour pas cher du tout (4.000 colones avec boisson par personne). Une agréable soirée, je recommande !

TOTALMENTE RECOMENDADO! La calidad de la comida es muy buena y el precio es increíble, super barato! Legítima comida casera! Un punto con fresco en 2,500! Vale la pena sin duda!
