La Muñequita Lodge

My daughter and I spent one night here on our way from Drake Bay to Monteverde. Our hosts were exceptionally warm & welcoming. We stayed in one of their cabanas, though we could've also camped comfortably. The beds were incredibly comfortable and clean. The cabana felt secluded, immersed in nature; we woke up to a sound bath of more than 20 different birdcalls including the magical Montezuma oropendula, one of the highlights of our road trip around Costa Rica.

Amazing family! We loved staying with them. It's off the beaten path a bit. Our room was open air with a bug net over the bed. Very fun!

The owner of the plantation and his wife are super sweet. The wooden cabin where we stayed the night is placed between banana and palm trees and exudes the relaxed plantation atmosphere. On the upper floor of the cabin are the bedrooms and a balcony with view over the banana trees. We had the most tasty breakfast, first we got pancakes with honey and fruit and juice and coffee, and then we got rice with black beans and plantain and scrambled eggs. We had delicious breakfasts in Costa Rica but this one was the best of all. While we were eating, the friendly owner was chatting with us, explained how sugar cane is processed. My girlfriend felt extremely happy there and so did I. Super experience! Thanks much for your hospitality!

The most friendly owners on a working farm. We opted to have dinner and breakfast made by them, which was very nice indeed (catering to vegetarians) and great to feel part of the family.

Our lodge overlooked a river, in peaceful gardens with plenty of birds and lizards. The lodge was open to the elements, and we had a hummingbirds fly through the ground level kitchen to say hello when we arrived.

The bathroom had no heated water and was not needed. It was clean and simple. There were basic kitchen facilities - enough to make a coffee and have a simple meal.

Upstairs the bed was very comfy, and had a mosquito net. Again, windows were open to the outside with curtains you could pull for darkness. We really enjoyed the feeling of being at one with nature. Each side of the cabin, there were balcony and seating for perfect birdwatching platforms.

A true highlight was the owner and his wife's keenness to show off their beautiful land and knowledge. They were just exceptional, giving us freshly cut fruit and telling us how they got started there.

This is not a place you go to for a swanky hotel, this is a place to relax, take in the tranquility of nature and experience something a bit different.

This is the most genuine small farm stay you will find in CR, Such friendly welcoming people and great home cooked food. Wake up to more birds and noises than the rainforest! They are clearly dedicated and love sharing thier farm with others. excellent value for money.

After a walk in the Corcovado National Park, we were looking for a warm and nice stay to spend the night and have a good shower as we were soaked because of the rain. We contacted La Muñequita via whatsapp to be sure to have a spot. The welcome was very warming. We happily took the invitation for dinner and had a cosy evening with the owners and volunteers working at the farm. Everything was delicious and all accommodations were clean and well built. We could sleep in one of the two cabanas and slept like babies. The next day we also had breakfast with the family and their care for us is heart warming 😍. We would advice everyone to spend their holidays with the Muñequita family 💓

This is an absolutely amazing place to stay at! Living in this wooden lodge is a unique experience, where you can enjoy amazing views and listen to the birds. Heyner and his wife Jenny are very friendly hosts who are always ready to help you and provide you with everything you need.
Breakfasts and dinners were the absolute highlights of our whole vacation! Jenny cooked incredibly delicious typical costa-rican dishes and we often got some extras like empanadas or ceviches. I definitely recommend this place!!!

Beautiful, but simple apartment. We just stayed one night on the way to Sierpe, but we could have easily stayed 2 and enjoyed the farm with all it's birds. Friendly and helpful owner. Tasty breakfast.

One of the best place you can find in CR. It's a farm and you can walk around , but the cabins are amazing with views on total nature and birds all around. The family is as well really (REALLY) nice and welcoming. This is for sure an absolute must when you travel in south Costa Rica

An amazing farm full of nature. The cabin is amazing and the prices are reasonable. The real charm of the place remain the hosts Heyner and Jenny who welcome you in their home for amazing meals and coffee !

La Muñequita Lodge is a working organic eco-farm. This is the most peaceful and enchanting place we’ve been in a long time. Heiner, a former tourist guide turned farmer after a near death experience, showed us around the farm and told us about his dream of sustainable farming, eco tourism that helps rather than hurt the land and people, and connecting locals with foreigners, and people with nature…
We can’t wait to come back to stay longer!

La Muñequita Lodge is the same place as Acsa’s Cabaña in booking(.)com
There are two entire Cabañas in the farm, one with the name Acsa’s Cabaña and a second entire cabaña. Both belong to the La Muñequita lodge. You can find the location of both entire cabañas in Waze. Heyner (the owner) can be reached on WhatsApp (+50146193).

Our stay there was really nice. The hosts were very welcoming and speak Spanish and English.

Our rustic cabin was very nice and equiped with a fan and a hammock on the balcony.

This on-farm stay with the family was an amazing experience!! We were able to see many birds and squirrels from our cabin and within the property. The family has a few cows as well as goats and 3 lovely dogs.
The food was amazing, we even discovered a new fruit, the guama.

Do not hesitate to contact the hosts by WhatsApp for more information and booking. I would definitely recommend it.

Heyner und Jenny sind sympathische und engagierte Menschen, die eine sehr persönliche und individuelle Betreuung bieten. Die Unterkunft ist sehr rustikal und liegt mitten im Grün der Farm. Natur pur. Nachts singen die Frösche, am Tag die Vögel. Neben den Farmtieren gibt es viele Tiere zu sehen: Affen, Leguane, viele Vögel und Schmetterlinge - bequem von der Hängematte aus oder beim Spaziergang auf dem Grundstück. Wir haben keine Ausflüge gemacht, weil es vor Ort so schön war. Außerdem wurden wir von Jenny mit köstlichem Frühstück und Abendessen verwöhnt. Die Munequita Lodge ist wirklich etwas Besonderes und die Gastgeber sind großartig. Das Rustikale hat uns nicht gestört, die Einfachheit war ein positives Erlebnis. Pura vida!

Nous avons été accueilli comme des membres de la famille.
Nos enfants ont participé aux différentes tâches de la ferme en nourrissant les animaux. Elles ont adoré!!
C'était une pause hors du temps permettant de sortir des entiers batus et de partager la vie de costariquains.
On a dormi dans la maison en bois avec le petit-déjeuner et on mangeait aussi le soir. Les repas sont très bon, les fruits viennent du jardin.
La maison en bois a beaucoup de charme, ouverte sur la nature. Les lits sont de bonnes qualités et la douche est très bien.

Nos encanto pasar estas 3 noches en este paraíso y aprovechar la naturaleza, la fauna (ardillas, aves, monos, mariposas…), los animales de la finca (samossa, arepa, mina, lolita, esperanza, etc etc 🩵), ayudar y bueno.. disfrutar de la vida cotidiana en la finca.
