Cabinas Vista Al Golfo

Hi,

I just stayed here for 2 days. The owner is a great guy, ready with lots of advices and will help with arrangemenst for tours in the area.
Room ia clean, nice people and atmosphere arround.
Great value for money.
I totaly recomand the place if you get here

A perfect place to stay in Santa Elena. It’s 3 minute walk into the town, with plenty of restaurants and shops close by. The rooms in the main building tend to be smaller than the rooms in the next building (the one I stayed). My room had an amazing view over the valley and town, the same view from the terrace which is the perfect spot to have breakfast or to chill.

The extremely clean, comfortably furnished hostel enchants not only with unique flair, beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains, but also with really great staff! We were warmly welcomed and advised. Everyone here is so helpful, the reception, cleaning, as well as the kitchen-team that takes care of the breakfast, have already earned alone a 5 star rating!
A complete package that we have never experienced in a hostel!

Great hotel/hostel/b&b.

Beds are comfy, service was impeccable - Ro, the staff member on reception in the evenings provided so many useful recs and was one of the friendliest people you could wish to meet - and great breakfast served everyday included in price of the room. Clean, well equipped kitchen available for guest use too.

The accomodation also had a great view of town and the clouds rolling in and out.

Our only negative is that the rooms were very loud. Now I'm not after soundproofing as such, but you could hear every word from the otherside of the wall when people were talking.

Apart from this 5/5. Highly recommend staying here if you head to Monteverde.

The view was amazing. The room was clean and spacious. (Delux double) very good value for the money. The breakfast was very good! The front desk was so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

We had a nice spacious private room, in contrary to other places with lots of storage room. The view from the panorama window is amazing. The winds can be heard quite loudly but that’s also kinda cozy. Special thanks to Ro, a funny, warm and helpful receptionist who booked us several tours and gave a hint for a nice sunset spot!

Loved it! It was like a resort hostel, with such a beautiful view. The rooms were clean and the kitchen well equipped. It's pretty chilly and windy in Santa Elena...all of the time, but the hostel provides a really nice warm blanket.... and there's always hot tea and coffee...for free! 😁

What a warm welcome from the host at the reception. She really brings a smile to your face with her energy and positivity! Me and my girlfriend booked a deluxe room with private bathroom and kitchen. It very worth for the money (see the pictures I took). Also, there is free coffee(!) and tea at the restaurant. There are also plenty of spaces to relax, like the hammocks and benches.

Had a great time at Vista al Golfo. The patio area is beautiful and on a clear day you have amazing views of the Gulf of Nicoya and Monteverde/Santa Elena. The free breakfast is the best free breakfast we’ve had at any hotel - the pancakes were delicious. Staff are super friendly and can recommend/organise activities, guided tours, and onwards transport.

We stayed four nights at cabinas Vista Al Golfo and really enjoyed it. The place perhaps is a bit kitschy but full of love. Jorge, Diego, Ro and their staff are great hosts, very friendly and made us feel home.

I spent two nights at this wonderful place and could have happily stayed longer. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. At check-in they went over the accomodations and tour options with gusto and you can tell they are knowledgeable and enjoy what they do. I had a private room which was clean and had a comfy bed, the shared bathroom was nearby and also well kept. Breakfast was included in my rate and is plate service with different delicious options daily and unlimited coffee to wake you up before you begin your adventures for the day. The restaurant on site has beautiful views and delicious meals with great staff. The location is awesome being only a five minute walk to town center. I highly recommend Cabinas Vista al Golfo to those seeking affordable quality accomodations in the beautiful mountains of Monteverde.

We stayed here for one night but certainly would have liked to stay longer.
Rooms are nice, breakfast is included and nearby are economical sodas.
On a clear day you also have a nice view from the common area.
If you're traveling with suitcases, take a taxi from the bus station as the street is a rough dirt road - if you're backpacking you're fine as it's just about 5-10 min from the center.

I actually enjoyed this hostel since the it was just slightly outside of town. The staff were very kind, but do expect to be bombarded with tourist suggestions and tours that can be sold on spot. They have a security guard doing night watch as well.
If you are looking to do a coffee tour, look into the less crowded ones. We went to Cafe de Monteverde and was pleasantly surprised with the sustainability factor.

Really nice staff and the breakfast they include is so good. They have a great view and private rooms are big enough for two. Shared bathroom was small but ok. It has a kitchen you can use that has everything you could need to cook and a lounge area with a BBQ.

Awesome place. Big patio where you can sit and relax, nice kitchen with everything you need to cook and the breakfast are really good. Ro is an awesome host! Very charismatic and helpful, he makes you feel almost at home. I highly recommend and cann't wait to come back to said hi to Ro. 😄

This is the kind of place where if you stay more than one night you will be greeted by your first name as you come and go. The hosts and receptionists (Diego and Erick) are both friendly and extremely informative.

The hostel sits on a gorge with fantastic views while you enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast, included with your stay.

My personal experience here warrants mentioning: I left a bag of toiletries in my room when I took the car-boat-car shuttle to La Fortuna (worth the $25 they are asking, but I digress). After emailing Diego at Cabinas Vista al Golfo they not only found my bag but sent it along with the next shuttle coming my way, who then delivered it to the hostel I was staying at at the time. Amazing.

Nice clean place! The strong points of this spot are: the price, localization, really clean nice kitchen that you can use, clean shared bathrooms, breakfast with fresh fruit and pancakes included and free coffe/thea all day long and a nice balcony with a bar where you can relax. The room is basic but very clean. Staff people are very helpful.

Amazing Hostel where we felt really welcomed by great staff. We had a room with an amazing view and the surprisingly clean kitchen for a hostel was a good extra.

My first stop in Costa Rica. Stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. Erick helped us in booking all the tours at hostel.We did whole bunch of tours but ATC was crazy good. Staff here are super friendly. Free breakfast and hot showers. Even though it was raining all the days we were there, we absolutely had fun staying here and exploring Monteverde.
