Summer Salt Dive Center

One of the best diving experiences I ever had. The staff and owners are really helpful and take an effort to enjoy the stay. Even before arriving at the Dive Center I had additional questions about traveling in Costa Rica and what the best way would be to get to the dive center and all of them were kindly answered. The equipment is well maintained! They also like to realize smaller groups for diving which makes the experience even more comfortable. The crew during diving puts safety first and is well experienced with really good vibes and a good time and a drive to explore. The Catalinas dive site is a must see if the diving experience allows it. Otherwise also the house reefs are beautiful sights to see with some lovely surprises to see under water.

Fantastic Dive company! My family did 3 days of diving with Summer Salt including a day trip to the Catalina’s. My son worked with Michael one-on-one to get his PADI Advanced open water cert. He was informative, attentive and fun on each of his instructional dives and in the knowledge reviews and debrief. My husband and I ( already experienced AOW divers) enjoyed each of our fun dives with Alex, Patricia, Michael and captain Dididre. I knew that we had chosen the right dive company from my first email communications until we picked up our well-rinsed gear on our last day. This small dive company with big heart and skill will leave anyone who is interested or loves diving doing 'summer-saults'…guaranteed !

Celine and Miguel run their dive shop in perfect harmony between professionalism and fun. Their staff caters to your every need, and you feel pampered. Truly, a wonderful team that I highly recommend.

Couldn’t recommend them more!! Starting from the thorough and detailed communications when we were emailing to set the trip up to the wonderful experience we had in the shop and on the boat. I did my Advanced Open Water with Michael and he was awesome!! Doing my Peak Buoyancy with him dramatically improved my comfort level and abilities underwater. He also gave me great briefings and debriefs after our dives. We were fortunate to be able to go to the Catalina’s but unfortunately no Mantas this trip… however we got to practice lots of great skills underwater. The equipment was great, all of the other staff I interacted with were great, and there was lots to see including on the boat.

All went absolutely perfect. Easy to organize dives (for me) and snorkeling (for my wife) just couple of days in advance. Far from the large "dive factories" I hate, Summer Salt Dive Center has a human-sized way of diving, favoring human contact over filling a boat to make as much money as possible. Visibility (as well as water temp) that day could have been better, but that the way it is and independent of the dive center.
I would strongly recommend, whether you are a very experienced diver, or whether you discover scuba.

Alex our Dive Master was fabulous, by far the best dive master I have ever dived with! The equipment was all the best I have ever used as rental, every step of our dive experience was well beyond expectations and what I have experienced with past dives!

Diving with Summer Salt will be my unforgettable adventure in Costa Rica. Everyone in the team was very nice, they care about the safety of divers. This Dive Center is a pure example of how customers should be treated when arranging diving abroad. We have spent 2 diving days here (4 dives from boat) and everything was just perfect. Starting from email exchange, through the first visit and whole experience- we felt really taken care of. We are not very experienced divers and Celine ensured we will choose the diving up to our level - on the local sites and we really enjoyed it. All the equipment is fresh and well prepared here, the staff is amazing (shoutout to our instructor Alex who made the trips each day a fun and relaxing experience). If you are looking to dive in Coco please make sure to check this place and there will be no regrets :) if by any chance we'll be back to Costa Rica we will definitely dive with Summer-Salt again!

We went diving with Summer Salt at the beginning of January on our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We did the refresher and some diving in the ocean with them. They were awesome to communicate with, always really fast to reply and so helpful.
We had the pleasure to do the refesher and the dives with Michael. It was just all together an awesome experience. Their whole team is just so friendly and makes it such a great experience. We really enjoyed the small groups. If we ever come back to Coco we will for sure dive with them again!

Great experience with Summer Salt Dive centre! Lots of marine life underwater, customer-centered service from a really nice and knowledgable proffesional team. We saw whales, rays, turtles, reef and bull sharks, barracudas and a lot of fish. The team is always ready to go for an extra mile to make your experience unforgettable. Highly recommended! My husband and I dove with these folks today and it was some of the best led diving we have ever done. From rental logistics to equipment set up before getting in the water all the way through the dive, Patricia and Michael were some of the most attentive dive masters I have ever witnessed. They were also kind and relaxed and helpful throughout. And then there was the magical diving! We went to two great local sites - we saw all the pacific sea life (eels, huge schools of fish, the biggest puffer ever, lobsters, sharks, rays, and a turtle!) and even visited a wreck. Patricia helped me with some ear equalization trouble and guided a newly certified diver with ease. I don’t know if I could say enough good things about Summer Salt. This is the spot to dive and these are the people!

Great staff and very knowledgeable. They helped me enjoy my time in Costa Rica by providing a two-tank dive where saw sharks, turtles, moray eels, rays, ands lots of other exotic sea life. I would definitely use Summer Salt Dive Center again!

We had an amazing experience at Summer Salt Dive Center.
Celine and Mickael were super nice and explained us all informations we needed for a dive Baptism. The pool session first was super helpful with a nice teacher Alex, and then we were fully confident for our first dive with a nice team and equipment.
Our instructor Patricia showed us a lot of fish species, raes and sea stars. We had the best time with all the team, and we can’t wait to dive again.
I recommand strongly to dive with them!

I went diving with Summer Salt my second time and it was wonderful again! Alex, Patricia, Céline and Michael are a great team, Didier is the best captain you can find. They're very experienced, super nice and helpful, we had a lot of fun and beautiful dives. You dive in small groups, the equipment is in good shape, it was always very safe. I can highly recommend Summer Salt and hope to be back very soon!

I’ve dove all of the world in a half dozen countries (40 dives) and Summer Salt is easily one of my favorite dive shops! My girlfriend took her open water course and had a great time with Michael and I dove with his mother 3 times! They answer your email promptly and we always smiling. Plus we saw turtles, sharks, rays, puffer fish, eels, a shipwreck, and heard a whale in the distance! If you’ve ever thought about trying diving then you should email them or walk into their shop. 10/10!!! Merci Magic Michael!!

One of the best dive teams I have been with.
We ended up spending 4 days diving with Michael, Celine, and also other dive instructors because we were taken care off excellently.
The local dive sites as well as the Cats are just wonderful. We will definitely come back at another season to check out even more of Costa Rica's underwater wild life.

I had the most amazing time at summer salt
diving center, and I simply can't say enough about Michael, my fantastic instructor. From day one of my PADI training, he made me feel like I was in great hands. Michael's friendliness and expertise put me at ease, and I always felt incredibly safe under his guidance. This place is a gem, especially with an instructor like Michael by your side!

Summer Salt Divers is one of several diving centers in Coco, and we came upon it by chance, yet I must say this is probably the best one we have been to after diving in many different countries. Right from the start, Celine and her team made us feel welcome and got us even more excited about diving!
We first did two local dives and were overwhelmed by the diversity and amount of marine life found right in front of their doorstep. After that, we decided we wanted to explore more and so did the bull shark tour to The Big Scare (Bat Islands) where we were able to experience those majestic creatures from up close.
What we should also point out is that the staff took the time to explain in detail all the must-know facts about "diving with sharks", hence making the entire experience even more memorable. Their respect and care for the marine environment was clearly noticeable.
Captain Didier was a true gem and navigated us safely through the sometimes choppy water. Both Celine and Pepe were awesome guides and gave helpful advice, which we really appreciated. We had so much fun and have learned a lot from them.

The location right next to the beach just off the main road makes it easy to enter the boat, plus all the equipment is brought to the boat by the staff before starting the trip, so that was very convenient. Speaking of the equipment, we noticed that it looked brand-new and was of high quality. No leaky masks, no smelly suits. ;-)

Dive master was excellent taking care of my 13yr on her Scuba dive. Although visibility was not great, were able to get up and close to 5 white tip sharks. Dive master knows the area well. Highly recommended for a local, small group dive.

Spent an incredible weekend diving with Summer Salt Dive Center in Playa del Coco. Michael and Celine were incredibly friendly and helpful, telling us all about the area, offering recommendations and taking us on some fantastic dives where we spotted massive rays, groups of white tip sharks, eagle rays, moray eels and much more! Could not recommend this place more if you are looking for a dive center where you feel taken care of, in the hands of experts, and looking for the best diving experience in Playa del Coco :)
