Simón Bolívar International Airport

A nice little airport for the touristic city of Santa Marta.

This airport is way better than the airport of Cartagena even knowing that Cartagena receives more people.

The spaces in this airport are bigger, they have a lot more option for restaurants to eat, places to buy coffee or beverages, and souvenirs shops.

The screens over all the airport show easily in what gate you must be for your flight (I hope it wasn’t so fast that it changes).

In general all the airport seems very clean and secure.

The only thing to mention is that the AC’s are little and don’t supplies well all the spaces.

Great airport - small but got all the basics you need 😍 burger place, subway, Juan Valdez and a few small places.

We had almost no queuing so all good. Also got great view and places to charger your devices in the food court area.

No idea why there are such negative reviews about this airport. Was a bit cautious before coming here but it was a smooth sail.

Airport is quite new, quick check in and security and if you are early you an chill at the beach next to the airport.

I mean where else do you see an airport right next to a beach??

Modern airport located on the beach.

The only time I’ve sat in an airport (dining area) and watched planes land while also watching the waves on the beach!

A few good shops are in the departures area so it’s perfect for an emergency gift.

Not much located after security so get your food and gifts before.

One of the best airports. Its located just nearby the sea side. If you have extra hours you xan easily swim with locals! :D location is 10/10 and if you there before the sunset dont miss the chance to see it while veing outside or even better - on the second floor. At the food hall!

This is one of my preferred airports in the world.

Even though it is a small one, it has the best view of the sea and the sunset, that in Santa Marta, it is one of a kind each afternoon.

Also, if you have a long wait, you can take your clothes off, wear a swimsuit and go to the beach, that is just steps away from the main entrance.

Inside, there are some shops to buy a gift to go or eat something fast. A coffee is very good for waiting at the gates and there are some shops first and second floors.

Excellent place to travel, where you can enjoy a so beautiful view front beach, it's a pleasure.

The reconstruction has gone well. Very clean and modern now. Flows well, nice concessions. Enjoying a perfect cappuccino and pan chocolat here while await my flight. It is right on the beach and the view is of either the Sierra Nevada or the Caribbean.

Small but good airport with a huge range of restaurant. Public WIFi is not very fast but okay. Just in front of the door is a nice beach were you can swim, no joke, it is a pretty awesome add to this airport.

It's a small airport for a city of 500,000 people, but it suits the needs of a traveler well. There are four gates in total. The airport itself is situated near a beautiful part of the ocean and the views of the sea are great. Security is more lax than one would expect in an American airport; this is mostly due to the fact that SMR services national airlines and the typical international security is irrelevant. The shops are in typical airport fashion: coffee, sweets, souvenirs, etc. Overall a good airport- never had issues there. By the way: I'm an American expat living in Colombia, not just a casual traveler.

Neat airport with great views in the cafeteria before boarding.

My first time in Santa Marta and I love it, neat aurport. We were received with a group of policemen playing instruments and singing vallenatos, THE BEST!

For a small airport in the developing world is place is great!

Free wifi with no registration. Cool airport. Friendly staff, no queues and what I really like prices are there or there abouts what you would pay in the same shop outside the airport.

I don’t know who needs this info but : THERES A BEACH AT THE AIRPORT, where you can actually swim ! It’s literally 100m from the entry of the airport.. so bring your swimming trunks ;)
